I found this hotel a few months ago on TripAdvisor and was really looking forward to our recent 2 night (March 7-9) stay. After arriving in Rome from Florence, it took a few minutes to get our bearings but found the hotel soon and easily enough.
When you come out of the train station bear right and keep going until you see the Supermacati. The next street over will be Castlefiardo
Like previously stated, not more than a 5 minute walk from Termini Station. Supermacati a few blocks away. Check in went very smoothly with real nice guy at reception, whose name escapes me. Room 108, overlooked the front and the side street. Noise from the adult club on the side street not really an issue.
Breakfast buffet was very good. Ham, cheese, hard boiled eggs, rolls, coffee, tea, cakes, quiches, yogurt, tarts, cereal, juice. Very good selection.
Saturday, we decided to take full advantage of the beautiful sunny day and were out all day an into the evening.
What happened next, is something I still cannot wrap my mind around. As it has never happened in my travels. After returning to the hotel at approximately 9:30pm, Imagine our surpirse to walk into our room and find that IT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED/SERVICED.
My husband who was more upset than I went down to the reception desk to complain. The guy on duty (whose name again escapes me), apologized and said there was no excuse for it, and gave my husband clean towels.
I had found this hotel after 3 reviews were posted on TripAdvisor and started tracking the progress of the hotel. Even though the hotel handled the situation the best they could, this really bummed my last night in Italy.
