The Sunset is a lovely little hotel, and very convenient for the Trevi, Spanish Steps, railway station etc. The Colosseum is just at the bottom of the road. We got a very friendly welcome, with plenty of helpful advice and a map. Our room looked as though it had just been refurbished, and was very clean and attractive. Unfortunately, the room next door was still being refurbished, and this was the only downside of what could have been a perfect stay. We'd requested a quiet room, but we were woken up by loud hammering and scraping next door. Even when we tried to go for a siesta the noise continued. Sadly, this meant that we've come home feeling as though we need a holiday!
I'd fully recommend the Sunset, but only when the building work is complete.

In February 2007 we stayed at the Sunset Roma for 6 nights. We had originally booked for 4 nights but found ourselves in a situation where we arrived earlier than expected. A quick email in transit and a prompt reply from the hotels manager - Andrea, and everything was organized.

The hotel itself is located in perfect position to access all that Rome has to offer the tourist. Our room faced onto Via Serpenti, which by Rome standards is a very quiet street. A slight lean to the left out of the double glazed window and we gazed upon the Colossium. Outside there are several great eateries, especially the Il Colon next door. Down the road was a coffee bar that the late Pope John Paul II drank coffee while he was a young Arch Bishop.

The rooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds, TV, plenty of room and serviced daily. The hotel was very clean and everything worked as it should. The hotel has a modern feel even though it is located within a building built around 200 years ago.

Andrea was never too busy to assist us with providing a daily itinerary of things to do and see. Andrea was a great source of pointing us in the direction of the best value Trattoria’s, Coffee Bars and Pizza Restaurants, all within walking distance.

To anyone traveling to Rome and wants to stay in a great value for money pensione where you feel like you are coming home rather than coming back to a hotel then this is perfect. When we return to Rome we will only stay at the Roma Sunset.

Andres provided great service while we were at the hotel. We stayed in Rome and Florence and by far this was the cleanest place. In a nutshell, would highly recommend this place!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early October 2006. Although fascinating, the pace of life in Rome can be overwhelming to the traveler. The Sunset was an oasis of calm. We had a large, quiet room away from the street. The location was very convenient to many major sites so we did a lot of walking. We also came back for a siesta in the afternoons, which made our stay in Rome more manageable and enjoyable.

I spent a lot of time researching hotels in Rome in the Collesium area as we were only there for 2 days and wanted to be close to the major attractions. I stumbled upon the Sunset suites and for the $$ it was the best hotel I had seen. We paid 150 euros for a triple room on Friday and Sat night. The hotel had offered to have a driver to pick us up for 50 euros but we had declined figuring that it would be more money than a taxi at the airport. We regret this decision as it was cheaper and way more comfortable than the city cabs. We paid 80 euro for the city cab and when we arrived and gave him the money, he pocketed 20 euros and told us we didn't pay him enough. Be aware that you need to count the money out to these drivers. The driver was also crazy driving at speeds close to 190 km/hr and then he almost got in a fight with another driver on the freeway. On the way back we took the hotel up on there driver and we had a relaxing drive in a nice mercedes car.

We arrived at the Sunset to the nicest check-in person. I had read many reviews about how rude italian hotel staff people can be. He was anything but....he checked us in and gave us a map of the area, told us where to eat and gave us a lot of helpful tourist tips! The bathroom was awesome...really big and brand new. The rooms were very clean and quiet. I would totally recommend the sunset townhouse in Rome.
It was the cheapest one that I found in the area and it was the best in my opinion.
