My wife and I stayed at Hotel Domus Praetoria for two nights in May. We chose it for its proximity to Termini train station and its TripAdvisor rating. At Fiumicino Airport it was easy for us take the lift to the top floor at Terminal C to wheel one suitcase each to the train station and take the Leonardo Express to Termini. We walked to the right side of Termini station and easily found Via Milazzo. But you really have to look for no. 42 Via Milazzo and not for the hotel sign, which is just one of three plaques (see photo) by the door of 42 Via Milazzo where there often are street bazaars in front of the hotel (we bought some small items). The hotel is family-owned, and it displays pride, care, and personal attention. We were upgraded to room 210 looking out on into an apartment courtyard. The relatively large room had a TV, refrigerator, hardwood floors, and an air conditioner which wasn't needed in 72 degree weather. The shower stall was big enough for two people, and the bathroom was quite spacious. We tried to use the wireless Internet in the lobby, but there seemed to be a protocol problem with both of our laptops, so we walked to one of the nearby Internet cafes and used the Internet for an hour for 1 Euro. There are at least three Internet kiosks within a block of the hotel. There are only 15 rooms in the hotel, so the breakfast room by the lobby holds just 5 small tables. The breakfast included coffees, yoghurt, rolls, pastries, with orange juice and a bottled pear or peach nectar. Everyone on duty spoke very good English, all were helpful, and about half of the guests appeared to be Americans. When we checked out, one of the staff, Massimo, asked how we liked our stay, and we said we were impressed at how everyone tried to please us and make us comfortable. He replied, "We enjoy this business." We enjoyed the stay, and we expect to return to the Domus Praetoria the next time we visit Rome.
