We stayed at Villa Morgagni during a 4 night stay in Rome. Although the hotel is not within walking distance to the sites it is within a 5 minute walk to the metro station. Since Rome has only 2 metro lines it is extremely easy to use and can get you wherever you need to go.

We liked to out of the hustle and bustle location of the hotel. It was near a couple of good eateries and a pharmacy across the street.

The staff at the hotel were wonderful, spoke English (which was a help), and very friendly. They were able to answer any questions we had.

The room was impecable and as we had three windows even in July we got a great breeze in the room. I was impressed with the breakfast as well. Lots of fresh fruit, pastries, meats, cheeses, and drinks. It was served every morning on the rooftop terrace which was a nice way to start the day.

Next time we are in Rome we will definitely stay at Villa Morgagni again.

Just got back from a lovely weekend in rome with wife and friends. Although a little way from the centre of rome, 5 mins on the metro, this hotel was one of the best we've had the pleasure to stay in. Rooms were comfy, staff were helpful, just one pitfall was the bar closed at about 10pm, athough dependant on night staff you could still get drinks. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Villa Morgagni. The hotel is located outside of town, but only a short walk to a stop on the Metro B line. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Federica, who took the time to provide both transportation guidance and dining recommendations. The hotel was clean with a lovely decor and the rooms and bathrooms were relatively spacious. Breakfast was plentiful and was served on a canopied rooftop with a beautiful view. They offered a shuttle service to the airport which was well worth the 70 EURO. Because the hotel is located outside of the town center, options for dining and nightlife are a bit limited, but easily accessible by simply hopping on the metro, bus or Tram. Overall, the hotel served our purpose very well.

Just returned from this hotel July 2007 and I was very pleased with my stay. We arrived late on an evening flight transfers from Ciampino were very easy and efficient with Terravision to Termini, line B was still open at 2230hrs. 2 stops later the underground station was less than 100yds from the hotel entrance. Although the bar was shut staff gladly allowed me to buy 2 beers and took my case upstairs while I had these. Our room was small but this was compensated for by cleanliness, appearance and quality which were all excellent. We had no terrace but we were on the first floor and there was a small terrace a very short distance from the room and there is also a large terrace on the first floor at the rear of the hotel. There is a roof terrace but this is only open for breakfast between 7am-11am. I thought our breakfast was good quality and there was hottish ham with scrambled egg every morning. Although not central I was pleased with the quiet and relaxed enviroment after spending time in the centre. We needed taxi transport one night after midnight, nearly got caught out by someing posing as a taxi wanting 20 euros but decided to wait in the queue after 10 mins we got a taxi back for just over 7 euros. On out last night we turned right and walked towards the City Centre after 10 minutes we came to an area of hotels and restaurants and we had a very good meal, with very nice staff at a pizza restaurant called Bobo`s. I would definitely use the hotel again and recommend it to friends.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife on our honeymoon for 3 nights, and we'd definitely come back next time we're in Rome. This is my first review on TripAdvisor, and I'll try to include some photos I took while here.

The room was very comfortable, high cielings, nice design. The aircon worked great, and the curtains allowed us to let in as much or as little light as we liked. Size-wise, it was typical for Europe, which would be a little small for America. But in our case the size was just right. In the bathroom there was a US/Japan compatable outlet for electricity. And a towel rack which kept the towels warm.

The breakfast was superb, everything was fresh and great quality. We were in Italy and Switzerland for two weeks, and this was the best breakfast we had. Tthe other places were good, this was just even better. I loved the muselix with fresh fruit and fresh juices, my wife loved the cheeses and fresh salamis, hams, and proscuitto. The croissants were perfect..there's plain, marmelade, and other flavors baked into the center. The skin was perfectly crisp without being dry. For the rest of our honeymoon we never found croissants as good as these, but here we could enjoy them every morning. =) Lots of fresh fruit too. We found out you can order cappucinnos, just ask the lady who works there. Breakfast was actually the best point about this hotel.

The location was good, just a minute from the metro (Policlinico station). This station is 2 stops from Termini, and easily accesses all main attractions. So getting to the hotel by taxi was just 5-10 minutes. The area around the hotel was a good neighborhood, and there's a convenience store across the street. If you want a taxi, ask the front desk and it'll be there in just 3-4 minutes. You can wait in the lobby and they'll come get you - this is a nice service about Italy and Switzerland. Taxis are generally prompt and polite.

Compared to other hotels in Rome, I felt the price was reasonable considering the location and breakfast. I'd definitely recommend it to friends who visit Rome in the future, and we've already decided to stay here next time.

When I have time, I'll write a review of the 2 other Italian hotels I stayed at, as well as the 1 Swiss hotel.
