The beauty of this hotel is the "bangs for your buck" factor. The rooms are large, clean, modern and cool. The A/C works, the soundproofing is good, our room was quiet, the sheets were cool crisp white cotton and the location is pretty good. Breakfast was included in our rate and the terrace views of the Coliseum are a great way to start your day. Cool, is important in the Roman summer and it was such a pleasure to come in to the room in the evening after wandering around Rome. Remember, although this is not a 5 star hotel, it is way better than some 5 star hotels in Rome and way cheaper than most. I've stayed in a few more expensive hotels in Rome that are tired and warm and unfriendly and busy. Set your expectations clearly and compare to other price comparable hotels, and Capo D'Africa will beat all of them in the same bracket.

My husband and I stayed at the Capo D'Africa Hotel on the first few nights of our Italian Honeymoon. What a wonderful hotel!!! Location is PERFECT -and it eased us into European life with this very modern and american-like hotel. The breakfast they offer is wonderful - yougart, fresh fruit, toast, juice - just what we were looking for - and sitting out on the terrace in the beautiful sun in Rome, what could be better?? When we go back we will be staying at this lovely hotel again. *sigh* I miss Rome and the lovely Capo D'Africa!!!

My mother and I stayed at the Capo D'Africa for 7 nights this June and were thrilled with our experience. The rooms were nicely sized and comfortable; the style was modern. Air-conditioning--thought not of the freezer variety found in America--was adequate and was quite refreshing after a long day of walking in the very hot sun! Breakfasts were amazing--such a variety of food and such a friendly, hard-working staff. The quiet rooftop terrace was a treat; it was fun to call down to the bar for drinks and be able to enjoy them and a view of the city at the same time. We had dinner one night in the lobby bar; while expensive, it was a great people-watching opportunity and the bartender was sooooo friendly--and made a point of speaking with us a few mornings later when he was working in the breakfast room.
The location was wonderful. Yes, it was a walk, taxi or metro ride to get to many places, but how can you beat having the Colliseum only 3 blocks away? Every morning I walked to the Colliseum and back after breakfast; every morning I was awed by it. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxed; there are markets, restaurants and gelateria nearby.
Out of curiousity, my mother and I did check out the Radisson SAS--Es hotel near the Termini. We LOVED the style of the hotel--very modern and chic but decided that the neighborhood didn't have the same appeal. We missed the Colliseum, the area didn't feel as friendly or comfortable, and it was noisy.
As a hotel, the Capo D'Africa "works" as a great place to stay. What struck as most, was that EVERYONE who worked there seemed to enjoy working there and was proud of the place. The genuine smiles and friendly greetings we received throughout the day certainly added to our experience.

This is one beautiful hotel, near the colleseum, The bedrooms nice size, bathrooms all mable tiles, very clean hotel, All the staff very polite and helpful. The bar prices a bit expensive , But what the hell your on holiday.
Taxi from airport is about 48 euro from the metered taxis outside.
And when your leaving the hotel after your stay, The hotel can arrange the hotel car, for a fixed fee of 50 euro +tip 5 euro = 55 euro. I would stay stay here again no problem. This is a 4 star hotel. give them another star they deserve it.

“Wonderful Capo D'Africa”

Capo d'Africa Hotel

We have just returned from a week at the Capo D'Africa Hotel and wanted to say how great the hotel is! We had selected it on the basis of the reviews we read on TripAdvisor and so we're happy to be able to confirm how fabulous it is. The hotel looks lovely, the location is perfect for both sightseeing (it's right near the Colosseum and Roman Forum) and access to the main areas of Rome (the Metro station is close by), and the staff were very helpful and efficient. It may be a bit more pricey than some of the other hotels but I'd say it's definitely worth it for the service and standard of hotel.
