The Hotel Bailey is a wonderful hotel in Rome. We were there with a group of friends from through the US and we stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, especially Simona. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful bed. There are lots of terrific eateries within a 3-5 block radius. Ask the Hotel staff for recommendations. We did seem to get some smoke coming in periodically either from the courtyard area or through the ventillation system. Overall, though, would definitely stay there next time I'm in Rome and would recommend that my friends stay there as well.

We stayed there and had a great time, it is in such a marvellous part of the city - close to everything, but so quiet. The staff are friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient. We would visit there any time. They were lovely to our children who wanted to stay there forever. The food is delicious - with a lovely breakfast menu and wonderful staff in the restaurant. Perfect way to start a day to explore Rome.

Couldn't recommend it more!

The Baileys Hotel is a quaint, modernised, comfortable and clean establishment in a quiet location about 20 minutes by foot from Termini station. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, offering very useful information to visitors such as the best transport options around the city. A nice touch is a complimentary bowl of fresh fruit in your room on arrival. For an overview of the city, we recommend the Red “110 open” bus with stops at all of Rome’s popular sights (good value at 13 Euros for a “hop off – hop on” all day ticket including an evening service to view the illuminated city by night). Most of the sights are within walking distance of the hotel (except perhaps the Vatican, which is reachable on the 62 or 64 (?) bus from a stop on nearby Via XX September). The hotel’s inclusive continental breakfast was a welcome start to each day. For evening meals, there is a good choice of family run restaurants in the immediate district (on or just off Via Flavia) offering excellent traditional menus. Two particularly recommended restaurants are “La Lampada” and “Henry Cow” (just along from the hotel). Due to its location, The Bailey’s Hotel offers a good quiet nights sleep and in very comfortable beds. The bathrooms are in traditional marble style with powerful showers! The one slightly negative point is the absence of coffee / tea making facilities in the rooms (although this appears to be standard in mainland Europe). On the whole a very pleasant and comfortable hotel, ideal for a short break in a vibrant city!

I have just returned from 5 wonderful days in Rome where my husband and I stayed in the Baileys Hotel. Based on the recommendations of tripadvisor users of course.

We found the hotel wonderful in so many ways, breakfast was great, location is good (everywhere is a good walk in Rome anyway - bring comfy shoes), hotel rooms were clean, excellent power shower and the extra comforts of bathrobes were well appreciated after a long day seeing the wonderful sights Rome ahs to offer. There is an excellent restaurant on the same side of the street as the hotel on Via Flavia called Annicinquante (I think) It is definatlely worth a try - amazing food and at a great price - carafe of chianti was €5.50 - good in any mans language. The mixed platter of meat is worth a try - it was delicious.

Be warned about city taxes though - I am not sure if these are legitimate taxes are not some restaurants charged a cover sharge varying from €1 per person to a ridiculous €5.50 per person. We were caught badly on our day at the Vatican - heading up a side street to a modest family eatery - ordered one spaghetti bolognese and one lasagne 2 desserts and 2 coffees no wine (83 euro)total rip off - we were charged €11 city tax??? and €10 service charge - when it came to questioning the bill conveniently there was nobody working there that could speak English!!! We noticed a few other patrons having similar arguments. - So be careful. Despite this one hiccup - Rome was amazing - will definately return.

I very recently spent a week in Rome and had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Bailey. I found the hotel to be a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very neat and clean. The beds are made with crisp, clean linens. The bed was the most comfortable of any hotel I have ever been in. The staff are the friendliest and most courteous of any I have ever met. The Continental breakfasts are superb. The hotel is located close enough to sightseeing that you can walk and very good restaurants are within walking distance, as well.
