My husband and I stayed at the Trevi Hotel in October 2004. We went on an overnight trip to Capri while leaving our belongings at the hotel, and when we got back, we had been robbed. We had our passports, money and euros in the safe, and when we returned, the safe and mini-bar (to which the safe was bolted) had disappeared. The concierge could not have cared less about our dilemma, even though we had to WALK to the police station to file a report; and we had to WALK to the American Embassy to get new passports. We were in one of the ground level "annex rooms" . . no sign of forced entry!! Everyone there seemed to have a key . . . no forced entry was necessary. To this date, we have not heard ONE WORD from the hotel, of concern, apology, whatever.
