Everything went smoothly until my wife used the toilet and the flush wouldn't work! I reported the fault but tried again about half an hour later and it was OK, so we retracted the report. Later that day it wouldn't work again, so next morning we reported the fault. "Don't worry, it will be fixed this morning," they said, but it wasn't. We reported the problem again that night, so they gave us the key to a vacant adjacent apartment to use the toilet there. That was OK during the day, but not so OK in the middle of the night. My sister and her family were occupying another apartment and their boiler wasn't working so they couldn't have a proper shower. They had been given a key to the same vacant apartment where we could go to the toilet. Next day, toilet still hadn't been fixed. On the fourth day we were asked to return the keys to the vacant apartment as someone would be coming that day. "BUT WHERE WILL WE GO TO THE TOILET?" we asked. "Don't worry," he said, "that will be fixed this morning." By this stage we had lost a little faith. If I were asked for one of the most basic requirements in an apartment or hotel, it would be a functional toilet. We did not have this, despite repeated reports.
The Aurelia staff are pleasant, in fact oppressively so! When you are breakfasting they will be in asking how you and your holiday are going, almost to the extent that you cannot get peace to eat your breakfast,. The breakfast, however, is very good. As mentioned in an earlier post the decor is a little run down. We will definitely NOT return to the A'wf'uleria!!!
I have posted many reviews on this site, all of which have been positive. This was our third visit to Rome and the occasion was to attend the wedding of our godson. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit but the accommodation was very poor. Never again!
