Booked this accommodation on the strength of reviews on this site.
Everything went smoothly until my wife used the toilet and the flush wouldn't work! I reported the fault but tried again about half an hour later and it was OK, so we retracted the report. Later that day it wouldn't work again, so next morning we reported the fault. "Don't worry, it will be fixed this morning," they said, but it wasn't. We reported the problem again that night, so they gave us the key to a vacant adjacent apartment to use the toilet there. That was OK during the day, but not so OK in the middle of the night. My sister and her family were occupying another apartment and their boiler wasn't working so they couldn't have a proper shower. They had been given a key to the same vacant apartment where we could go to the toilet. Next day, toilet still hadn't been fixed. On the fourth day we were asked to return the keys to the vacant apartment as someone would be coming that day. "BUT WHERE WILL WE GO TO THE TOILET?" we asked. "Don't worry," he said, "that will be fixed this morning." By this stage we had lost a little faith. If I were asked for one of the most basic requirements in an apartment or hotel, it would be a functional toilet. We did not have this, despite repeated reports.
The Aurelia staff are pleasant, in fact oppressively so! When you are breakfasting they will be in asking how you and your holiday are going, almost to the extent that you cannot get peace to eat your breakfast,. The breakfast, however, is very good. As mentioned in an earlier post the decor is a little run down. We will definitely NOT return to the A'wf'uleria!!!
I have posted many reviews on this site, all of which have been positive. This was our third visit to Rome and the occasion was to attend the wedding of our godson. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit but the accommodation was very poor. Never again!

Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teens, stayed here for 4 nights. I was looking for a place with lots of room without spending a mint, and the Aurelia certainly has lots of room. The folks running the place are very friendly and helpful. However, our room had broken tile, peeling wallpaper, a mini plastic shower stall, a microwave that didn't work, rickety furniture, and a cot with missing slats. The breakfast is Continental, no protein, so our kids were starving within an hour of eating. The area is residential, so ther are no restaurants nearby, except for the ubiquitous pizzerias. Next time we will spend a little more and stay elsewhere.

The Aurelia Residence is a great place to stay if you want excellent friendly service and more space than the usual hotel bedroom.
The staff are excellent, helpful, friendly, courteous and kind. They can't do enough for you.
The apartments are spacious and are very well equipped.
Must come back in the summer to spend some time on the patio, in the gardens and to have breakfast on the roof garden.

Our party (2 couples) spent 5 nights at Aurelia Residence in one of the Vivaldi apartments. The apartments are in a good area, with easy access (15 mins) to centre of Rome, gated, well tended grounds where we felt quite secure. The apartment itself was huge to say the least, there were wardrobes gallore and it was very clean, with the bedding changed daily! Our apartment had the bedrooms on the railway side, but we honestly cannot say that the trains were a problem to us. Neither was there any problem with the hot water! The only point I would make is that the kitchen is equipped for preparing snacks, there is no oven or grill, but hey who wants to cook on holiday!
The staff are fantastic. I booked my flight then found the apartments through Trip Advisor. I just sent an email and had a really speedy response. They booked a taxi to meet us at the airport, which went like a dream! Then when we arrived I had the pleasure of meeting Anna, Diane and Ferdinand - all the people who had sent replies to my various questions, they all spoke great English and they couldnt have been more informative about the best time to visit the Vatican Museums, which buses to take to visit the Colluseum, where to eat etc. etc. The breakfast was really good too! Gennaro was there with the Cappucino and advice on where to go too! We had a great time and we are looking forward to another visit. We have already recommended Aurelia Residence to several friends

The death of Pope John Paul 2nd brought 4 million extra visitors and the worlds leaders to Rome this week. Even with this added pressure our stay at the Aurelia Residence was superb. Anna,Fredinand and staff were welcoming, helpful and very efficient in their duties. The apartment was large, well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was fine with a good continental selection, and excellent coffee. It is good to be greeted by name, and a smile, by staff who obviously take customer care very seriously. We will make a return visit and stay at Aurelia Residences.
