We only booked the first five nights of our 18 day trip to italy to be flexible. We planned to book the other hotels a couple of days prior to our arrival in the next town via internet. When we were headed to Rome we checked Expedia. There were not many options at 4 star level. I am glad that we did not book to far ahead as we had some disapointments with what we had aready booked. I feel you must book 4 star hotels to be comfortable. The one 2 star we stayed at was a dump. The Jolly was easy to find with valet parking for our rental car (35 Euro per day). Our room on the first floor was a nice size, comfortable bed, clean bath with tub and shower. My wife took a long hot bubble bath in the big tub after a long day of exploring Rome. The staff was professional, proper, nice, and helpful. The hotel is modern in design and has all the comforts of an American higer end style major chain. Breakfast was good with plenty of things to choose from. We booked the first two nights on Expedia, when we considered adding an extra night we thought we were told 117 Euro so we decided to stay the extra night. They moved us to a nicer room on the 4th floor that was much quieter than the traffic at first floor room. I would request an upper floor if they have it available. 117 Euro sounded like a great deal however, when we checked out they billed us 217 Euro. The clerk that quoted us the night before was not there so when they said 217 instead of 117 we don't know if he mispoke or we misunderstood. I am going to email them with a request for an explanition and or refund. This modern quiet oasis from the bustle of Rome made our three night stay pleasurable. We would return on an upper floor with full understanding of the rates.
