I have been to Rome over 20 times. This is my second stay at the Victoria and it was better than the first. I love the location. It is convenient to everything but has the feel of a quiet neighborhood. The staff could not have been nicer especially Massimo, Adriano and Diego. Our room was wonderful and we had a small balconey. The breakfast was more than adequate and Marco and Alessandro were both friendly and kind. Some of the other breakfast staff need to lighten up and smile! The roof garden is a great place to unwind after a busy day. Diego is there to help you choose a drink and relax. There is a super restaurant one block away, Il Pomodorino where you can get very good food ," troppo economico." When I return to Rome next year there is no question that I will be staying at the Victoria. Mille grazie a tutti!!

  • Liked — Our room and the front desk staff.
  • Disliked — The fact that they are repairing the Via Veneto street but that will be over soon.
  • Tips/Secrets: — 2 restaurants within walking distance. Il Pomodorin and La Cantinola on Via Calabria

Location, Location, Location....we were so pleased with the location next to Via Veneto and Villa Borghese Park. We suggest to give yourself an evening tour of the Galleria Borgheses and taken a stroll in the park--amny interesting things to see as well as a great way to see the locals. The outside noise was minimal but the inside noise could be heard fairly easy around 7am--housekeeping, next door room and upstairs room. However, the rooms were spacious and the bathroom was huge. The hotel was very clean and offered a nice breakfast. The staff, however made the place not so appealing.

Upon check in we found out that through the American Express Corporate Web Site the reservation booked for one person for 4 nights. However, our recepit did not state how many people it was booking for-it just stated how many nights and how many rooms. There was no comprimise, the hotel told us it would be an extra 60 Euros for the second person each night. We cut our Rome visit short one night and stayed three nights instead. The Bernini fountain is just down Via Veneto were there is the Metro and the Spanish Steps are just a walk as well were there is also a Metro. The Via Veneto is a main street-that is long, but safe and a nice walk. The Metro is a nice way to save money as taci's love to charge more as well as take you in a different location. Be sure to know your way back from to the hotel before getting into a cab. All Restaurants in Rome charge both for Service and Cooperato & Panne. Both of these charges make for an expensive meal. There are many small Tobacco shops around that you can pre purchase the Metro tickets, Water and snacks for the day.

Myself and 12 friends stayed in this hotel last weekend while in Rome for a wedding. The hotel was in a good location close to the centre (20 min walk, 10 min in a taxi). The rooms were clean and comfortable but the best part were the staff, who were very friendly and helpful! One think to note however, was the lack of an iron.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel from August 24th through to the 27th, booked through hotelclub.com at a rate of $75/night canadian. A pleasant hotel, close to everything Rome has to offer. the walls are thin so there were times the hall and other room noises were bothersome, but all in all, a great, old, hotel with lots of charm. Definitely worth far more than the rate we paid.

  • Liked — Location and concierge assistance
  • Disliked — thin walls, odd odor of the water

hotel was of a high quality clean and staff courteous. Breakfast is basic but ample. The room was good but not as good as the pictures. Location is at the top of the Via Veneto, so a 5Eu taxi ride takes you to the centre of the city. We found the piazza Navona the best place for food and to watch the world go by
