My husband and I just returned from a 2 week trip to Italy and we stayed at the Hotel Delle Muse in Rome for 7 nights. We requested a room with private bath, a tub, no smoking and quiet and we had such a room. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are somewhat stark. I don't remember any paintings on the walls. Ceilings are high. The bathroom was very moderm with bidets and we had a spa bathtub which I enjoyed as well as a shower. This was actually a triple room as there was an extra single bed.
The housekeeping was excellent. The room was spotless and the housekeeper seemed to anticipate our needs. We took the extra pillow from the extra bed and the next day when our room was made up, we each had two pillows and the extra blanket we used was added to the made up bed. It seemed to me that sheets were changed daily as they were always very crisp. Towels were nice enough, with face towels and bath towels. The room floor was tiled and the halls are carpeted which could use replacement. It got quite cold and the heat is not usually turned on until November 1. After a day of cold, we did get heat.
Breakfast, included in the price of the room, offered a huge variety of food. There were all kinds of rolls, cheeses, fruit-dried, stewed, baked, fresh, canned, eggs, bacon, other meat, juices, all kinds of coffee and more. It is served in a very nice room and the staff is very nice.
The 360 bus stopped a block away and went to the main station Termini. This worked out well except for the Saturday when there was a big demonstation at the Termini. It took about 20 minutes to get downtown depending on traffic. The location of the hotel is a plus and a minus. It is in a neighborhood just north of the Borghese Gardens, which is a walkable distance, taking a bit over a half hour. The Pariole neighborhood is very quiet and away from the touristy areas That is the plus. There are a few but not many restaurants that we could find in the area. However, the location is also a minus in that it is not close to all of the sights. We found that once we came back to the hotel, which was often in the late afternoon or early evening, we did not want to go out again. Had we been downtown, we could have come back to the hotel to rest in the afternoon and gone out again.
In any case, we highly recommend the Hotel Delle Muse.
