We stayed at Hotel Lancelot for 3 days prior to our wedding in September. The hotel itself was very nice. The room we had was spacious and clean. The bathroom was tiny, but that seemed to be the norm everywhere we went in europe. The staff was extemely friendly and helpful. The hotel was located a short walk from the colosseum and many little bars and restaurants. I will definitely stay at Hotel Lancelot when I return to Rome.

I am really torn about this hotel. My feeling, and rating, about it should be higher since there was nothing particularly wrong about the place. It's just not really a hotel I would stay at again since I believe there are better choices in Rome at the same price point.

So, first what we liked. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. The fact that everyone had English helped a lot. The room on the fourth floor was okay. It was clean and fresh, and the bathroom was not too small, save for the shower stall. I would pity an overweight American in that shower stall. Also, the bar area was a nice touch, and included a full selection of brands and choices.

The location of the Hotel Lancelot is very good in my view. It is a five minute walk to the Coliseum and bus routes are nearby. There ae some great restaurants within walking distance. And that always helps.

Why would I not return? Overall, the hotel is just dull. The lighting in common areas and in our room was dim and had an overall "old" feeling. I am not suggesting the place is worn, but it just feels dull. The plethora of older patrons with their backpack (US and British) was a drawback for me. But I completely understand this is a very personal reaction.

All in all, the Hotel Lancelot is a perfectly serviceable hotel. Just not my cup of tea since it is not modern enough.

Rooms are more than adequate, clean and secure.

Breakfast plenty to set you up for the day. Dinner was lovely (although perhaps more English than Italian) and the service friendly, attentive and non-intrusive, providing a relaxed evening meal. The small bar area / lounge is perfect for a quiet before/after dinner drink.

Only a couple of minutes walk from the Colosseum and Metro line. Definitely one to be recommended.

Hotel Lancelot is near the Colosseum. About 10 minute walk to the metro. Nice restaurants in the area, safe to walk in the evening. Hotel staff was great. Very helpful. Room is very clean and very quiet. Basic set up. There is an elevator. Also AC.

Hotel set up the transport from airport to hotel which worked out great and was worth not having to hassle with metro when we arrived so late.

Walked nearly everywhere from the hotel.

Highly recommend!
