Toured in November, 2007. The Pantheon was one of my favorite buildings in Rome because of its age and history. The outside definitely shows its age but the inside does not. Just beautiful inside. The marble designs are wonderful and the colors are some of my favorites of blues and browns. Entry is free and photos are allowed. There are audio guides and I believe there are some guided tours (which I didn't have time for) so if you have the time and are a lover of history, that might also be worthwhile.

I'd also recommend going mid morning to early afternoon. There is not much lighting so if you go late in the afternoon or prior to sunset it will be very dark inside and you won't be able to see as well and will effect your photos. It's not that large inside. I think I had built it up in my mind to be much bigger given its place in history. Easy walking distance from other sites.

The Square outside has plenty of spots to sit and rest your feet while enjoying a coffee or gelato. A little pricey but you can't beat the view of the Pantheon.

The Pantheon is one of those stops that you won't need to spend much time at, but you really need to see it. It is huge! Other than the building itself, there wasn't too much to see (at the time I was there they had part of it roped off due to a religious function). I believe Raphael is buried there, and the dome itself is pretty incredible.

When you look at the structure of this building, its an amazing structure, their is a large hole through the top where day light filters through. We did not need to line up for this attraction, we just walked in, their is no photos allowed inside but this did not stop people trying to take photos.

They were just finishing the cleaning the ceiling and it was stunning. If you want to know the glory that was Rome, the Pantheon is as close as you can get....The door, the floors, the outside everything fascinating and at night it is all lit up and totally romantic. This and the Trevi are the places to hang at night.

The Pantheon was originally built as a religious temple in ancient Rome. The structure is amazingly good shape considering its age and is the best preserved of all Roman buildings. From the outside of the structure you feel almost as if you have been transported back in time.

Stepping inside your eyes are immediately drawn to the large domed roof that rises high above, not only because of the scale and pattern, but because the center oculus provides the only source of light.

The Pantheon has been used as a tomb and by exploring the inside you will find monuments such as the tomb of the artist Raphael.
