Spending hours doing research on hotels definitely paid off. This hotel was absolutely wonderful in every way. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I'm a big breakfast person & there was a wide variety of fruits, juices, breads, ham, cheese,etc. every morning. Our bathroom & rooms were spotless. This location could'nt have been better. We walked everywhere we went except to the Vatican. I awoke in the mornings looking out over the Pantheon. This was our first trip to Italy & we can't wait to go back someday & stay here again!

Satisfying in every way. Front desk staff helpful, courteous; rooms very spacious, and perfect location literally steps away from the Pantheon. I will never stay anywhere else in Rome---no point in even looking.

stayed at the albergo del senato in feb. 2004. I do not think there is a better location in rome. trevi fountain- 10 minute walk. spanish steps - 15 minutes. villa borghese - 20 minute walk. pantheon - 30 second walk. what more can one say. if you want to be in the heart of rome, this is the place. we stayed in a suite with a balcony overlooking the pantheon and piazza rotundo. it really doesent get any better than this. the staff was very proffesional and extremely helpful and the breakfasts are truly wonderful. piazza navona is a 5 minute walk and the best cheese shop in rome is directly across the square.
fortunatos restuarant is a 3 minute walk. it is not to be missed. this is a truly wonderful hotel.

I stayed here for 4 nights with a friend in mid January 2004 based on a personal recommendation as well as the high reviews here, even though we could have booked a 4-star hotel in the same area for 70 EUR per night less. We were very happy with our choice; this place should definitely be 4-star. The hotel is classy, and is in a perfect location literally next to the Pantheon and a 15-20 minute walk to anything you ll want to see in Roma. It s worth having a drink (or two) at one of the many café s on the piazza north of the Pantheon (overpriced tourist traps but the view is worth it), but for dinner, ask the friendly staff for a personal recommendation at a place on one of the narrow streets off the beaten path. The only negative was the near-rack rate we paid for the room (220 EUR for a double). If you can get this place for anywhere close to 150 EUR it would be an absolute steal. Also remember that it is on a piazza and subject to pedestrian and vehicular noise well into the early morning hours. This wasn t a problem for us in January (with the windows closed) but in spring/fall, light sleepers might have an issue. At any rate, I would definitely stay here again.
