My family and I stayed in a 3 star hotel near the train station and took a taxi to the Trevi. It is beautiful! I only wish I would have taken the time to see it at night with all the lights going.
We arrived early in the morning after a light rain shower, so there much fewer tourists than normal. I'm so glad we arrived before the crowds and travel groups.
There is some nice shopping nearby and several inexpensive restaurants and cafes.

Beautiful, crowded, but not to miss! What a work of art! Don't forget your coins.........

This foundation is amazing, their is a large crowd of people which are drawn to the foundation, the water is really clear, it is crowded but you can wait your turn to take your photo beside the foundation.

The Trevi Fountain is a beautiful spot, but it is absolutely crazy!During the day,it can be a bit of an effort to get near enough to the water to throw in your coin, as the place is just jammed with people. It's a must-see on any Roman trip, but like one other poster said, watch your bag and camera!
