After reading so many great reviews about this place, my partner and I went to Il Chianti for dinner last night. I was completely baffled as to why people seem to love this restaurant. We went at 9:00pm and had to wait in line for thirty minutes to be seated. Then, once we were seated, we sat for another thirty... more

one wouldn't think that you could get this type of meal near such a heavy tourist area. my husband and i stopped for lunch one day, had a delicious salad (it had to be for hubby to love it) and two really great pizzas. service was great, had to sit inside as it looked like rain and i'm glad we... more

We had a wonderful meal here - the food was interesting and excellently prepared. We had a plate of cured meats to start, followed by a vegetarian ravioli and a special braised pork dish. The service was great, and the atmosphere is modern-rustic. Though there was a wait, it was not too much of a big deal. Next time, I'd... more

We have just returned from our second trip to Rome and our fourth visit to Il Chianti. The food is always good, the atmosphere second to none. This restaurant is alway busy, with locals and visitors whether you go lunch time or evening. The staff are all very friendly but professional. For a good meal with good atmosphere this is... more

This is a lovely place but a bit overpriced for what it is, having said that, the portions are big and the quality of the ingredients are excellent. It's predominantly tuscan cuisine so not traditionally Roman. All in all I'd reccomend going there, and also sitting inside as the outside seating is a little crowded and the atmosphere inside is... more

Ate at Il Chianti twice during a visit to Rome last weekend. I’ve eaten there on several occasions over the past 10 years and have always been impressed. On the first evening (Thursday) my partner and I shared the mixed antipasti starter which was excellent, followed by a pasta course. The Wild Boar Ragu was fantastic. On the 2nd visit... more

This restaurant was a great find. Prices charged were comparable to the various anonymous tourist haunts but the service and the food quality were a class or 2 above. THe restaurant opens at 7.30 and seemed pretty full within the hour. Helpings were generous so in our case, we did not really need a second course. The wine list was... more

A lovely restaurant serving Tuscan specialities - particularly beef dishes - with a wide range of Tuscan (and other) wines. We had the cold meat starter plate which had an excellent array of salamis, hams and cheeses, plus a couple of crostini. As main course, the 'Tiepidina', a plate of rare beef with an aubergine sauce, was outstanding. Hope to... more
