We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of August. It is unbelievably close to St Peter's Square and the Vatican - about 150 metres. Ok, so that makes it a distance from the Centro Storrico area, but if St Peter's is your thing you really won't be disappointed. We stayed at Residenza Madri Pie in March 2003. The staff was friendly and although they spoke little English attemped it and helped us all the time. The rooms were clean and so were the private bathrooms. The beds were not the best but with all the walking we did in Rome sleeping was not a problem. Our room had... more

Stayed at Residenza Madri Pie in May 2007. The best way to make reservations is by e-mail. My stay was excellent. The rooms are very basic, NO extras. Rumor has it that it was an old convent converted to hotel. Breakfast in morning was prepared by the nuns. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. We did not feel rushed... more
