Now, upon reading some of the negative reviews we were a little afraid, but it turned out better than expected. We liked the location: about 10 minutes walk from subway station, about 15-20 min from Colliseum. Rooms were clean and modern - and they had working AC, which is not common at all in Rome. This hotel looks to be very chique and modern on first glimpse but its problems soon become evident. Specifically, our bathroom smelled vaguely of sewage, the breakfast included in the room rate was terrible, the staff was surly and the hotel was robbed by gypsys (this is who the desk clerk blamed) while we were there....apparently they broke in somehow... more

This Hotel is a very good value for your Rome-money. Early check-in possible if room is avbl. and storage for bags/suitcase after check-out!! Prime Hotel Saint John is located in a walking distance from Colosseum. The room was clean and tidy and the bathroom had jacuzzi. It is a definetely 4 stars hotel and I would go back there again for the price I paid for! more

whilst the rooms were very small, the hotel was very clean and well run. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. I stayed with my mom at this hotel for 3 nights on December 2008. The hotel is fairly new, with a contemporary style. The room was clean but really tiny. If the bathroom door was open, I couldn't pass by. The temperature was great for when we were coming back from the cold weather. The bathroom was big and clean.... more
