Let us start from the most crucial point - Rome is TERRIBLY expensive, and yet it is a must-see. So, the last thing you want is to spend more than you have to on accomodation. You're much better off spending the money on eating some glorious food at some ristorante or trattoria. Otherwise you cannot really say you've been in... more

Spent 4 nights at B & B Laterano (Via Tasso, 155, just off Piazza S. Giovanni in Laterano). First "B" (bed) is fine: comfortable beds, good bathrooms, air conditioning); second "B" (breakfast) is weak: all do-it-yourself, with milk, and coffee,pre-packaged baked goods. Location is good (10-min. walk to Colosseum) even though nearest Metro stop (Manzoni) is under major repair. But... more
