We did not enjoy our stay at Hotel Cavour and we found the area surrounding Termini station to be an undesirable and inconvenient place to stay in Rome. Even if you’re used to walking all the time, it is still a good 30+ minute walk to the nearest sites. A better area would be around the Spagna subway station. Aside... more

What do you want from a city-centre hotel in a major European capital? We look for a good location, clean room with good/clean bathroom, fair price and good staff/service. This hotel ticks all the boxes. Room - small but perfectly functional, spotlessly clean bed/linen/towels. Quiet too. Staff - helpful and charming. I would rate this hotel for the hospitality. Location... more

I stayed 7 nights in a single room at Hotel Cavour. The location of the Hotel is excellent. It is only 150-200 m. to Rome's main railway, metro and bus station Termini and a few blocs away from the Cavour Station. Transportation within Rome and to other cities of Italy is not a big problem. A bus-stop just in front... more

My daughters and I stayed at the Hotel Cavour the first week of August, when it was incredibly hot. One of our rooms was air conditioned, the other was not (despite the hotel being listed as air-conditioned on their web site). So we moved mattresses from one room to another so we could all sleep comfortably. The hotel was a... more

We booked the Hotel Cavour through Venere.com. We were supposed to stay two nights but due to flight trouble on our side, we weren't able to make it for the first night. We contacted the hotel in the middle of the night before we were originally due to arrive. They were great - even though we cancelled about 12 hours... more

Rome is super expensive especially if you want a private room. Keeping this in mind I thought Hotel Cavour was a good deal. We paid 80 euro per night, which included breakfast but we shared bathroom facilities. Massimo is awesome and lifts the hotel from average to above average. Definitely ask him for advise on where to eat etc but... more

I visited Rome with my husband and we found this hotel excellent for our requirements. Firstly it is in a fantastic location for seeing Rome as it is just walking distance from the Termini where trains/metro/buses to all over Rome can be caught. This means it is also convenient for popping back for a break/freshening up in the afternoon after... more

I spent one night at this place on May 15th. The lobby and breakfast room were small but wonderfully air conditioned. Too bad my room air conditioner was not up to the same quality as the lobby. Because of the poor AC I did not get a good night’s sleep – but I did on my flight the next day.... more

Quick overview: Just spent 22 days (April 9-30) in Italy as a single traveler: I stayed in 12 hotels priced from 50 to 80 Eur/night. I looked long and hard on the Internet to find the best hotels I could afford. In general, most of them are better than “budget/backpacker” hotels and you get great value for your buck: I... more

Hotel Cavour emailed to confirm my reservation and when I arrived greeted me heartily by name. The staff speak excellent English and were extremely helpful in helping me find a place to eat dinner. Breakfast was simple Italian style but adequate. Location is excellent. A 10 minute walk to the Collesium and Forum and about a 20 minute walk to... more
