Dec 1, 2008 | Trip type: Family

We booked a total of 5 rooms for a family trip. Some of the rooms were good, others not. Three of the rooms were quads (for families of 4) The quad room in the back of the hotel was dark, quiet, and had air conditioning. That family had a restful night's sleep. The quad room on the top floor facing... more

We made our reservations directly from their site as my sister-in-law had recommended it. The location is excellent and if you go on to their site it gives directions as to how to get to the hotel by train and metro. HUGE help as you avoid the hassle of having to take a taxi and run the danger of being... more

The Pensione Erdarelli is very well located near the Spanish Steps (Spagna), the Barberini metro stop (and the excellent fountain nearby), the Trevi fountain, and the Borghese Gardens - it's also walkable to the Vatican and the Colosseum/Forum area. Restaurants abound and gelateria are next door and across the street. For placement alone, given its price, it is good value.... more

My family (husband and 3 teenage kids) and I stayed at the Erdarelli Hotel for 3 nights in July 2007, and we chose the hotel because of its location which couldn't be better. We stayed in one 3-bed room and one doubleroom, and though small and very basic, the rooms were OK: very clean, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms... more

We stayed in this hotel in rome for 5 nights and found it basic but clean. It is a very affordable place to stay in rome, near to most things. There is a metro stop five minutes walk away and a five minute walk in one direction will bring you to the spanish steps and ten mins in the other... more

The Erdarelli family is extraordinarily helpful. They're full of restaurant recommendations and suggestions for what to see. They have answers to all your Rome questions. The rooms are clean and larger than I expected from a European hotel. The included continental breakfast is satisfactory and got us through the morning every day. I would definitely go back. more

Checked in, saw the room, rejected it, looked at other rooms, checked out! Don't believe the pictures on the website, maybe that's how they were twenty years ago , but bear little resemblace to the hotels current run down state. Rooms dirty (ingrained dirt) peeling wallpaper etc. Wouldn't kennel my dog here - be afraid - very afraid. Should have... more

On our recent trip to Italy, we stayed in five hotels, all of which were fantastic.... except this one. To begin, the entire hotel smells of smoke. We booked non-smoking rooms and yet each of our three rooms had not one, not two, but three ashtrays in each room. The beds were, in fact, cots. All amenities were a joke...... more

My wife and I booked a room over the internet. Euro 145 per night we got a room with an army style bed (with a tattered bed spread) and a private bathroom that was probably 6 ft. wide by 3 ft deep, consisting of a toilet on the wall, a sink, and a shower head in the wall with a... more

The hotel location is ok but the room was small and dingy. The blanket looked and smelled as if it hasn't been washed in 10 years. The desk, chair, even clothes hangers were all dusky. In sum, the hotel is overpriced and I would not recommend it to other travellers. more
