Just after paying, we found that our room was not acceptable. The main concerns that we had were: the shower had an abundance of black mold, and the shower door was not even attached, but completely broken, and we deemed it unuseable. There was no safe and there was dust that set off allergies straightaway. We brought this to the... more

This hotel was awful, the pictures on the website are nothing like what we got!! We did expect it to be basic with it being a 2 star, but this was a joke. The bathroom was horrible, I don't know how old the shower curtain was, it was disgusting, we also had some unwelcome guests in the bathroom (ants) Filthy... more

Well this Hotel was such a disappointment! Do not be fooled by the nice hotel pictures, because it is nothing like that. The Room was filthy and dusty and the Bathroom was just Vomit! We went during the HOT Summer, and needed to Shower like every hour or so, but I had to really restrain myself from showering because the... more

We have just returned from a short trip to Rome, staying at the Altavilla hotel. Myself and two friends, 3 ladies in 50-60 age range arrived in anticipation of a cultural, educational and enlightening visit. The Altavilla was in a superb position for sightseeing, near to the Termini. The staff on reception were friendly enough, but the lift was out... more

Alora....if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Rome try under a bridge before you book this dank, dirty, smelly, overpriced, bottom feeder of a "hotel". Couldn't stomach even 2 hours in the room, no exaggeration. If you have already booked then, honey, get your money back asap. There are a million better hotels in lovely rome than... more

Hotel Altavilla... well the location was fantastic- a short walk down the hill and you are near to everything you could want to see in Rome. Other than that, it was not great. When I booked the hotel, I was under the impression that it was a 3* hotel and that it had an internet connection. I booked a twin... more

I don't understand from the previous reviews if perhaps there are some old rooms that haven't been renovated, but I found none of the problems listed below. It is a city centre 2 star hotel next to Termini so don't expect marble bathrooms or champagne in your room, but you get a good deal for what you pay for here.... more

Dreadful hotel - nothing like photos on their website. Stayed here for 1 night and it was 1 too many. Room dirty, smelly, noisy. Shower didn't work. Bed was old and uncomfortable. DO NOT stay here. I am not that fussy, honest, but this place is awful. more

Dont stay here, worse place ever!!! Rooms so small, lights went out and we flew out of the window! View was of a concrete quadrant of the other hotel rooms. Bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen and be warned the hotel website pictures must have been taken from another hotel as there were 6 of us in three... more

Indeed, the real hotel cannot be compared with the pictures on its website... We stayed for 2 nights in a big but smelly room on the fourth floor, street side. The traffic was noisy, but reasonable. In our opinion the staff was not rude, but also not very friendly. They understood and spoke English better than we do Italian. The... more
