My husband and I got married in the Irish College in central Rome in March 2009. We wanted to stay in a hotel that would match the grandeur of the wedding, and the Castello della Castelluccia was no diasappointment! 13 of us in the wedding party stayed in beautifully furnished bedrooms (as the married couple we were upgraded to a... more

We got married in this beautiful place and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The wedding planner - Stephania - at the hotel made everything so easy - photographers, musicians, flowers, menu planning, fireworks, hairdressers, transport from airport (it is hard to find the property but don't let that turn you off ..the hotel were great at organising taxis, buses... more

The hotel I was supposed to stay at during one night of my tour was actually overbooked, so 5 of us were put up in rooms at Castello della castelluccia. We checked in at around 10:45 p.m. and my room (more like a suite) was huge! The room was so beautiful, and the bathroom...that was the size of some of... more

As part of a planned trip to Italy this hotel was booked on the basis of its price and TA ranking. We like our creature comforts and very rarely stay below 3 stars so when we saw that three nights at the Castello would be les than three hundred pounds and was four stars as well we booked straight away... more

Okay, I'll start with the negatives. The food is horrible and expensive. Save your money and appetite for Rome. The food in Rome is awesome. Transportation is horrible. If you call a cab they start charging from the moment they get the request in. So wherever they are at (Rome, around the area, or wherever), by the time the cab... more

There are so many great things to say about this castle hotel. First of all, it's a castle and it is in great shape. We requested rooms with views of the mountains which was beautiful. The food was great but yes a tad expensive. The hotel had so many unique characteristics and was fun to explore. The shuttle says it's... more

Yes this castle is far from Rome central but it is quiet, surrounded by countryside and trees.(We knew that a cab from Rome would cost 60 Euros each way.) We arrived June 8th after a long flight from the U.S. Since the airline lost my luggage, we arrived frazzled and upset. The staff was helpful, most tried to speak English... more

On the whole we enjoyed out weekend stay at the Castello. I have visited Rome many times on business and have usually stayed in a city centre hotel. As this trip was mainly holiday, I deliberately chose the Castello as I wanted a relaxing break away from the noise and crowds in the centre. The idea of a castle also... more

After seeing the website and reading other traveller reviews my expectations were high for this hotel, and although aesthetically it was as beautiful as advertised, I encountered several small disappointments which lowered my overall opinion of the hotel. On arrival, the staff were very friendly. The room we were allocated was not as grand as those shown on the website,... more

We booked a room at the Castello as part of our honeymoon in the Rome area hoping to have a nice quiet relaxing break and have to say that as far as being a Hotel our experience was far less than what we expected. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated as an inconvenience.... more
