We were apprehensive about our stay at Casa Banzo after recent reviews on this site. We booked it after seeing it on The Guardian's top 10 places to stay in Rome. As others have said it is not easy to find and despite asking for directions from the hotel they were not helpful. However when we did find it we... more

The location was great. Close to a lot of attractions. The place was very difficult to find and no one answered the buzzer when we got there so we were sitting outside until we ran into the person running the hotel. They requested cash which was strange because I don't make a habit of carrying 600 Euro on me. They... more

Casa Banzo was a great disappointment. We had seen a recommendation for it in the Guardian UK. Towels (if you can call them such; flimsy dishtowels is more like it) were laundered every two days; the bathroom was covered in ants, and on the last night, we were told that we'd have to leave the hotel because there was a... more

My husband and I stayed at the Casa Banzo for three nights while in Rome. This is the place to stay if you want a real experience... it's a cute little hotel/bed and breakfast in the center of Trastevere. It can be a bit difficult to find if you don't know your way around the area, but it is VERY... more

This bed and breakfast is recommended by some very prestigious sites, but mainly I think that is because it sits in a great old building very close to Campo dei Fiori and the staff at the inn are so very, very helpful. The rooms themsevles are very plain and there are no extra amentities. Security is dicey as some of... more

We stayed here for 2 night in May 2007. We were absolutely enchanted by the Casa Banzo. This BandB is perfectly located near the Campo De Fiore. It is within walking distance of the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps etc. It is a really gorgeous establishment. The entrance and breakfast room are beautifully decorated with antiques. Going through the heavy... more

Casa Banzo was in the perfect location -- no more than 30 minutes from any point of interest, and located right in the center of all the action. Two minute walk to the center of Campo de' Fiori, five minutes to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, twenty to thirty minutes to the Vatican and Colosseum... all by foot, mind you.... more

First placed we stayed in Italy and the best. It is a B&B, not a hotel. People should know that going in and not right bad reviews because they book one thing and expect another. Location is outstanding, rooms are small but comfortable, breakfast was a nice way to start the day. When we go back to Rome, we will... more

My husband, 3 children (all btwn 5-9yrs), and I stayed in the 2-story "family room" for 4 nts in June. While my husband and I always stay in upscale btq hotels by choice, we needed a more reasonably-priced, large room for our family of 5. We chose Casa Banzo based on a "posh B&B" review by a reputable travel magazine.... more

I booked this B&B based on a favorable recommendation in Frommers. Unfortunately, the experience from booking to checkout was not user friendly and, frankly, we found the owner and staff to be the least friendly of any place we stayed during our 5-week tour. The owner requires a check (no credit cards) to reserve the room. The B&B was difficult... more
