Poor location far from any attractions which you have to reach by taxi or public transport (a trip to St. Peter's takes almost one hour by tram), definitely not the safest and not the most beautiful area of Rome with a lot of graffiti. No fridge in the room which is very inconvenient during summer months especially with a view... more

Stayed here for one night in early Sept. My first impression of the area was that it looked depressed. Lots of graffiti and tagging. Never felt unsafe, though. Walked to hotel from the Termini. The hotel was like an oasis in a desert. Well cared for and tended courtyard in front. Room was beautifully decorated. Bathroom was larger than some... more

This hotel is really bad. The pictures are very deceptive. They said the room had a balcony and a safe and it had neither and it was so tiny that you could barely move around. The shower was 2 feet by 2 feet and flooded when you took a bath. They could remove the bidet and enlarge the shower!! The... more

I was very disappointed with this hotel. My friend and I book two single rooms for 4 nights. First of all the location is not ideal, in the university district of Rome. While the bus stop is only a few minutes walk, the buses are extremely congested and most people just push u out of their way. In fact one... more

I was very reluctant to book a hotel that did not have a review on tripadvisor, but I decided to take a risk. As I walked from the Termini Station following my mapquest directions, the neighborhood seemed to be getting more and more seedy (dodgy). And, yes, when I was only one block away, I was planning on turning around,... more

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The reception area was very nice as was the bar, Breakfast was ok but on the second morning of our stay we were a little late getting down, I asked the small female waiter if there were more cheese and was quite roughly informed thet the german bus party had eaten it... more

Located in a not very plesant residential area. Did not feel unsafe but would not recommend a single female staying there and walking in the late evening. There is only tram to the metro station - ok but need some time to go to the hotel. Bathrooms are old and mine was stinky like a public toilet. It seemed that... more

We loved our stay at Villa San Lorenzo. In the San Lorenzo district, close to Stazione Termini, it is not walking distance from the sights, but the tram stop is literally just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Given the excellent price of the hotel, it was worth the stay. The tram will take you directly to the Coluseum,... more

We stayed two nights at the Villa San Lorenzo in early May for what I thought was an excellent price in Rome where I heard hotels can be more expensive. In fact, of the four hotels we stayed in while in Italy, this one was the most economical. The hotel itself is newly opened and in beautiful condition with a... more
