The hotel is very well located close to Bologna metro station and Termini train station. Not a tourist district so you can eat and have a drink for less money. I recommend the restaurant Braci e Abbraci 136, viale delle Provincie Roma for an excellent meal at an honest price. It is close to the hotel. The price of the... more

the location is near Piazza Bologna, a central quarter of Rome, but dont expect to find famous buildings to visit; its near the main university of Rome and the biggest hospital of Rome;the metro "B" is 5 minutes walk; the surrounding area is full of life with restaurants, pizzerias, buses from and to the central station Termini, shops, diners, patisserie;... more

I arrived at the hotel at 9 PM after a trip from Naples, only to find out that my room had been given away to someone else. My company had made reservations more than a month in advance. At the beginning the employees were not completely candid about why this had happened, but ended up admitting that it was due... more

The hotel is not in the city centre, but it's only 5 minutes walk from Piazza Bologna station. Piazza Bologna is not a touristy area so it's nice and quiet and you can actually experience the daily life of the local people. There are enough nice bars (cafes) with as well as restaurants for dining options and because the area... more

We stayed at this hotel in June 2007. I got a good deal through accorhotels.com which turned out to be quite a bit cheaper than most hotels in the main tourist areas. It's a chain hotel but I like this as you usually can expect a certain standard. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Bologna metro station which... more

Stayed there December 29-January 2, during my first visit to Rome. The location is not exactly in the heart of Rome, but it is just a couple of blocks from the subway, so no complaints there. It is actually in a less touristy area which was fun to explore, and there were a couple of nice neighborhood restaurants nearby. The... more

This hotel was by far the best part of our travels through Europe. We began in London, then Paris, and then enter the Mercure! WOW! The hotel is in a quite area of west Rome near the university. Great reception area, bar area, dining room. The rooms were by far the largest of all we stayed in. Corner room with... more

We booked this hotel as we were looking for a relatively cheap option in a good location in rome. The hotel is not located in the historic center of rome (if that's what you're looking for, do not book here). The place is located near piazza bologna - this is 2 stops from the termini on line b of the... more

I stayed at Mercure Piazza Bologna for 3 nights with my boyfriend. It is a fantastic location. It is 2 stops from main train station which is right in centre of Rome. The hotel is lovely. Not much character at all but is a great price (327 euro for 3 nights double room)for decent hotel in mddle of Rome. Locality... more

Stayed here for three nights in August as a 'cheap' option to the expensive city centre hotels (website rate 100Eur per night). Modern hotel (typically Accor) - everything works and is clean and just what you would expect from 2/3* Staff very friendly and helpful (and English-speaking!) Didn't eat in hotel so can't comment on food. Bathroom in my room... more
