I booked the hostel through Hostelworld.com. We were 5 girls traveling and for the review we had heard about Italy, we needed a hostel which was safe and had good reviews. This one was all of that and affordable too. I found the dormitories clean but bathrooms were a bit too small and old fashioned showers. There was some guy... more

This was a nice hostel at a cheap rate just beside the Rome Termini station. We had to get up early the next morning to catch a train, so this was an ideal location. The hostel is located upstairs and in order to get in you have to buzz the little button for them to unlock the door--they didn't say... more

My friends and I, 6 of us, had the 6-bed dorm. The room was very spacious for 6 people, with chairs and a table in the middle, and it seemed quite clean. However the hostel DID run out of hot water during our 3-day stay - once at night and once in the morning. Since there wasn't a definite pattern,... more

Stayed for 3 nights this summer in an 8 bed dorm, there are much worse places but i'm sure you could find better. The place was pretty clean and modern, and they give you free pasta during the week which is useful. The rooms are quite big and uncrowded but get very hot during the summer, which is not helped... more

Service: Friendly, helpful staff. On arrival a woman gave us a street map of Rome and explained the easiest ways to reach all the top sites, recommending restaurants to us and directing us towards the areas for young people at night during the summer months. One of the girls I was travelling with left some documents and traveller's cheques behind... more

We stayed in this hostel recently for three nights. The hostel is in a good location if you are coming in by train as it is 5 minutes from Termino station. The first thing you are faced with is a 69 step climb up to the hostel although there is a lift it is claimed the lift is faulty... The... more

All in all, an ok place, though the kitchen and internet facilities didn't seem to be enough for everyone, and my bed squeaked terrrribly! Room was spacious. The elevator didn't work and it's up a couple flights of stairs. more

Stayed for 4 nights in a mixed 8-bed dorm. Paid €17 per night, which was very cheap. Hostel is located in a relatively dodgy area very close to Termini, along with a lot of other low-cost accommodation. While the feeling of personal safety was a bit low when wandering back to the hostel late at night, there was never any... more

I stayed in the Alessandro Hostel from sept 5th to sept 9th 2007. This was the first hostel I had ever stayed in because this was my first trip to Europe. I didn't know what to expect. When I arrived at the Termini, I searched for the hostel, but couldn't find it immediately. But when I found it, I was... more

The hostel is about a 2 minute walk from Roma Termini, which is good since my train arived at 11:30pm the walk there looks like a dodgy neighborhood there was grafiti on the walls and it was real dark but i never felt... more
