We stayed at the Mecure Roma for 3 nights in June. Bruno, who welcomed us at the front desk said, "What language you speak? We can handle Chinese, Japanese, German and English." Although we were eager to begin speaking in our newly-studied Italian language, it was comforting to know that English was not only understood, but spoken very well. Bruno... more

I booked this for 3 nights over a weekend in July 2008. Price came out at €207 total, which was just under £170 with the current bad exchange rate. The hotel room was clean, had thick curtains to keep the light out, and a larger than expected bathroom. Water pressure for the shower was excellent (we were on the third... more

Clean and comfortable hotel, friendly staff, room was lovely, especially liked the bathroom, and the firm bed. Only small downside was the location, but it was a lovely, if long walk into the centre of Rome, along orange-tree lined streets. However, the buses left from five minutes away, at Via Nomentana, and you could get tickets at the shops on... more

Mercure Corso Trieste is definitely an option - standards are very good, room is not small, hotel - relatively new. If the rates are OK with you, this entity could be considered. Breakfast (EUR 13 p/person) is not normally included in their rates, however it worth the money - abundant & widest choice of high quality food. But please be... more

Clean modern hotel, bit out of the way. Staff were dreadful - plenty of them but very slow and unhelpful. One insisted on checking in 2 other sets of guests before calling a taxi which was required urgently. Bar man took over 10 minutes to pour 4 beers - no other customers in bar. Took about 40 minutes standing at... more

We stayed for six nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay. It is a way out of the centre in a quiet neighbourhood but the bus on Via Nomentana is only a short walk away and the 84 takes you to Piazza Venezia, walk down the road a little and take the 62 right to the front of... more

We stayed here as a compromise, as we couldnt shell out the extortionate rates for the grander, more central hotels, but equally didnt want to stay somewhere awful just to be near the tourist sites. The hotel its self is very nice, the reception is smart and modern, with attentive (and quite good looking!) staff. The rooms are well designed.... more

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a celebration weekend. The hotel was located about a 10-15 minute walk from the subway, or about 3 minutes from the bus. Transportation was quick, affordable, safe, and efficient. We arrived at the hotel around 1230pm, and were able to check in early. Our room was spacious, and being on the corner we... more

Just spent a week here on business. My usual hotel (the Mercure Piazza Bologna) down the road was full, so opted for the Corso Trieste instead. Due to an incoming flight delay I didn't reach the hotel until after midnight. I needn't have worried though as my room was guaranteed late arrival and the check-in was fast and efficient. Once... more

The only reason I booked this hotel is because of the Mecure brand name and the relatively affordable price range of this hotel. But the location is not ideal for tourism as it's not near any tourist spot or metro. 15 mins walk to the nearest for young people like me! Taxi ride to Termini is about 9 euros. Bus... more
