I've stayed at petra several times for work, the hotel part of it isn't so bad, the restaurant is pretty good and the people are very kind, but the residence is another thing, I had roaches in my room, sometimes I din't have hot water, appliances and lights were always having to get fixed. It's not a 4 star hotel... more

Good hotel. Rooms are good, breakfast was ok, not a big range, but good quality. Recepetion staff were very helpful and can speak in english without problems. The bonus is the free shuttle to nearby places. The only negative thing is the location, it is outside the centre, but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel, jump... more

We (myself and bf) arrived at 9pm on a Sunday night after being picked up by the hotel limousine service. The area we drove through to get to it was less than desirable but thought it would be better by day. We asked the hotel receptionist for advice on transport to Rome and were given info and a map. Dinner... more

Everything you need in a hotel, clean, helpful staff, and a nice restaurant. Plus balconies with views of the pool and no traffic noise. On the outskirts of Rome with excellent nearby public transport links into the city centre (about 30 minutes). We had a great stay in Rome and can definitely recomend this hotel. more

Pros: - Spotless rooms - Top-notch restaurant - Reasonnable rates Cons: - Location not ideal for tourists, i.e. not in central Rome - Air con was not working in my room - Minibar fridge was barely working - Laundry showed up 2 days later with several oily dark brown spots on my shirts - Hotel shuttle bus systematically late or... more

I looked up the official website and the hotel seemed gorgeous so i booked it with my flights through easyjet. The main reason i booked it was for the pool. I couldn't wait for my week by the pool after sightseeing and travelling into rome was going to be worth it So i was extremelly disapointed to be told it... more

I used GTA hotels to book. We booked it because my bf and I were planning on spending one romantic night together and the other nights with friends (ended up spending 3 nights in 3 hotels) and we liked Petra the best. We were confused on how to get IN the hotel though. We ended up following in some guests.... more

I read a few of the reviews for this Hotel and took the plunge anyway. We stayed there for three nights and I felt that the submitted views were unfair. The staff were excellent and even endured our feeble attempts at italian to order food and beer on the first evening. The next morning we enquired at reception about the... more

The Petra is a pretty good place for a short stay, but--as previous reviews make clear--it's not for everyone. The area in fact is not too bad; the Italian habit of spraying graffiti and litter over everything makes it look a great deal worse than it is. But neither is it romantic, glamorous or atmospheric: rather, a characteristically anonymous Roman... more

I booked this hotel to be near Ciampino Airport...it was incredibly difficult to find, and when I rang up, the front desk couldn't adequately give me directions in English. In saying that, I was of course in Italy and maybe should have been able to speak better Italian, but in an international city such as Rome, it was a bit... more
