I have just returned from an 8 night stay at the Ergife hotel in Rome. We organised an international conference there. I have to say that having read some pretty bad reviews on this site, I was apprehensive beforehand. Let me confirm that the now fully renovated hotel has excellent facilities. All of the rooms were brand new, clean and... more

OK... This hotel was one of the stays on our tour around Italy. My husband and I did our own traveling... and had to stay here for various reasons. It's on a bad side of town, you can stay closer to the nice side for cheaper, the staff was RUDE, the hotel was a dead beat place.... not nice. The... more

Six old friends on a Trafalgar tour together - a hellish way to begin! After reading some reviews before we left, we were assured that our tour would not be staying in the "non-renovated" sectin of the hotel. Wrong! When we arrived in the early afternoon and were given our keys - yes indeed, we went through the beautiful foyer... more

This hotel looks fantastic from the foyer. If you are staying at this hotel with a Trafalgar tour - then you are in for a rude shock. You go through this beautiful foyer through a secret door into the old part of the hotel. It actually looks like a really old hospital. The rooms are tiny as are the beds.... more

Stayed there with Trafalgar tour in August. 2008. The rooms were terrible, smelly and rotten. Small make-up items "magically" disappeared from the room after cleaning. The corridor was dark, long and looked like a place for horror movies setting. Shame on Trafalgar for using such hotel for their groups. I would never use Trafalgar again as I can't trust them... more

I stayed at the Ergife in July 2008 as part of a tour of Italy with Air Transat. Everyone in our group was in a renovated room which was average size for Europe, a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Our room had a view of the pool. There was a gentleman singing songs in English and Italian in the evenings... more

We were also on a Trafalgar tour in May. The lobby is modern, but tour groups stay in the older unremodeled area. Ergife website states that all rooms have been remodeled. The hall has wall paper peeling off and very worn. I don't think this area will ever be redone as long as Trafalgar and other groups continue to use... more

Stayed at this hotel,on the 15th and 16th of June 2008,we had read all the reviews and were prepared for the worst.after we arrived we were surprised to find that our room was fine, small but good. The staff at the hotel were great and treated us very well more

I visited this hotel with a Trafalgar Tour and just like the rest of the reviews - I noticed this hotel was antiquated. Luckily we stayed in the "modern" wing. At least the A/C worked well!! The pool was large and refreshing and we sat outside at night and enjoyed (well with a few drinks) the music. The reason we... more

I stayed at the Ergife Palace as part of a Trafalgar trip in May. It is not the greatest hotel mainly because the rooms are so very small but it is also not the worst. It helped that I had read previous reviews on this website and knew what to expect. The hotel lobby is very beautiful and modern. The... more
