My wife & I went to Rome last year (2008) and stopped at the Madison. Not the best area to stay, but ideal to get about being across the road from the Terminii. we booked a double room, but when we arrived the gave us a single room, saying they would change it the next day. The next day when we asked for another room, they said it wasn't possible because nobody had written down we should change rooms. So we had to sleep 2 out of 3 nights in a single room.... more

The hotel is a rat hole. There is no air conditioning. The staff is not helpful. The location is on the wrong side of the tracks. No money is worth staying here. more

We walked straight past our hotel when trying to find it. Dont stay on this side of the Termini railway, its considered the 'dodgy' side.
