The hotel is in an awesome location in walking distance to Spanish steps (10-15min), Trevi Fountain (10-15 min). We also walked about 30-45 min to Vatican. We took the subway to the Coloseum, there is subway stop at the end of the block that the hotel is on. The hotel is nice, staff friendly, b-fast good, rooms small, quiet block. more

Hotel staff were very friendly, professional and helpful and breakfast was very good with lovely pastries, cold meats, fresh fruit and cheeses. The only letdown was the coffee which wasn't very good. Location is okay, very close to Piazza de Popollo which is the northmost of the attractions in Rome. The other attractions in Rome are walking distance, 15-25 minutes... more

The hotel is well located close to Piazza del Popolo, The staff and generally helpful and friendly. The value is probably OK in a city where most hotels are a bit pricey. The usual small-ish Roman room. There were one or two issues though. Most rooms require you to take two elevators and walk along a corridor. Both elevators were... more

Dear TripAdvisor member, thank you for your review. I'm sorry that the size of the room did not meet your standards. It is a matter of fact that our classic rooms are on the small side (about 12 sqm). Beside Classic rooms we are able to offer Superior rooms or Deluxe rooms which are larger than the Classic ones. If...

Ten of us were attending my sister in laws wedding in Rome and as my wife and I had used the River Palace several times in the past recommended it to the wedding guests as a good base for their stay.We weren't disappointed. The staff were excellent and went out of their way arranging transportation, looking after luggage and in general making... more

We booked this hotel after a tour of Italy, and based on reviews on Trip Advisor, and weren't disappointed. It was wonderful. We arrived early, and didn't expect to be able to check in, but the staff couldn't do enough to get our room ready for us almost immediately. The rooms are quite small, but beautifully decorated. The location is... more

We stayed for three nights in early June 09. It 's in a good location, only five minutes' walk from the Via del Corso, ten minutes from the Spanish Steps. It was easy to get to (train from Fiumicino to Termini, four stops on the Metropolitana to Flaminio), though the entrance is so discreet we nearly walked past it. All... more

We spent three nights at the River Palace prior to a Princess cruise. The Hotel has been remodeled and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are small but very nicely decorated. The air conditioning is OK but the controls leave a little to be desired. The Hotel is in a great location, less than one block from the People's... more

My husband and I stayed at the River Palace for two nights at the end of May. This was our first stop on our 3-legged trip to Italy. We had heard some pretty bad stories about the hotels in Rome in general, so we weren't expecting much. So, you can imagine we were pleasantly surprised when we walked through the... more

I had reserved a Deluxe room at the River Palace Hotel for 140 €, about six months in advance. I thought this was a pretty good deal for such a nice hotel, especially since their rates just kept going up with time. When we checked in at about 10 AM, there were no Deluxe rooms ready, but they offered us... more

We were extremely satisfied with this hotel. Although the location is not at the very center of town, you can walk to the metro within a few minutes and walking to the centre only takes around 20 minutes. Our room was small but cosy, and we appreciated the little stuff such as a few crunches of chocolate and a note... more
