This was by far the smallest hotel room that we have ever stayed in! There is barely any room to open your luggage. And the bathroom...the toilet seat was broken, which was taped together and the shower - you can stand in and that's about it...there is no room to move around (not even to wash your hair). If you... more

My wife and I booked a trip to Rome for a quick get away. We didnt know where we were going to stay until we walked up a side street and into Hotel Griffo. The man at the desk "Zorro" was extreemly helpful and spoke good english. He helped us book a room and Rome tours. The breakfast was really... more

As the first place I slept in Rome, the Grifo has a spot in my heart b/c from start to finish, it was a relief. We had never been to Rome for vacation, w/ all arrangements made by us. Hours of reading bad online reviews had driven us to spend more than preferable for our first 2 nights in Italy.... more

We are so happy to read our guests understand our our hotel, our approach, the location... What we are able to do (cleaning, serving a decent and honest breakfast and advicing at the reception) we do it. Moving our walls to make our ancient building bigger... is a miracle we still have to learn.

One of the best holidays. Beautiful Rome would have not be that beautiful if we had not felt that comfortable and welcomed in Grifo hotel. more

In February 2009 I stayed with a group of my students at Hotel Grifo. My compliments for the fine service and the most helpfull staf. They informed us about restaurants in the area, places of entertainment and other advantages. The hotelrooms are comfortable and you can also get a good breakfast. The location of this hotel is also great. Not... more

My husband & I stayed at Hotel Grifo at the end of Jan 2009. We had the most incredible stay. Rosa and the other reception staff where fantastic and gave us some excellent advice that made our adventures in Rome all that more memorable. more

My party booked a 4 person room with terrace. Room was clean and terrace appealing. Particularly pleasing was the location in a central and attractive district, but quiet at night. So no problem with the late night Roman noise which one reads about. Made very welcome by reception staff, with helpful advice re local restaurants etc. Able to leave bags... more

This hotel needs a little sprucing up. The rooms are small, and the walls are all stained. The cupboards in the rooms have peeling contact paper. The bathrooms also leave much to be desired, you have to push the button on the toilet about 20 times to build up pressure to flush. The tv in the room also did not... more

Well, sad to receive such a review right now, as we have just finished renovation. Regarding other complaints, we'd rather receive complaints during the stay in the hotel, in order to solve any problem or misunderstanding.

Great!

Great little budget hotel. We booked a triple which was a nice size and clean. The hotel is very basic, so dont expect bell boys, etc.. The guy at reception is super friendly and full of soo much good advice. You are 10/15 mins walk from main train station, but just 5/10 to the Colosseum or Piazza Venezia. The location... more

This hotel had the best service in Italy. I would recommend any person to use this hotel if they were to stay in Rome because of this service; and in addition, the rooms were very clean, and also comfortable. I enjoyed my stay there very much and would book the same place over in a heartbeat if ever in the... more
