We stayed for two nights at the Caravel as a part of a Cosmos tour to Italy & Greece. Overall its a decent pick for the location and proximity to the Colosseum and (25 minutes away by bus) Pantheon, Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain. Expect this hotel to be somewhat like a Days Inn or Howard Johnson. Go here if... more

We stayed here on the first leg of our Cosmos tour to Rome. The room was extremely tiny and very basic. The room wasn't the cleanest or the most comfortable, just very basic. There was quite a bit of noise from our neighbours. Sadly, the lady in the reception wasn't so helpful in helping us find our way around Rome,... more

Ive just stayed at the caravel for 3 days whilst attending Rome for the Champions League Final. The hotel is situated about a 30 - 45 minute walk south of the Collosseum. First impressions when I arrived was okay. The reception staff were very helpful and I stayed on the 7th floor in a twin bedded room with my son.... more

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel whilst sightseeing Rome. Though located about 30 minutes' drive from the city centre (rail terminus -The Termini), it is well connected to it by bus, metro and taxi. The Catacombs, a minor tourist attraction is within walking distance of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has internet facility for... more

I stayed at the Caravel as part of a Cosmos tour last month. I can sleep just about anywhere, even inside a car, but this hotel gave me the CREEPS!!!! The lobby looks descent but I felt as if I was transformed back to an apartment I lived in in the Czech Republic 15 years ago! Musty, old smell, constant noise... more

The easiest way to get her is to take the train from Leonardo airport to Ostensia station 5.5 eurofrom there it is a 10 minute walk or you can catch the 715 bus from out side the station. This bus also takes you into central Rome (Teatro Marcello) from the other side of the road from the hotel. The hotel... more

We stayed at the Caravel on 14 - 16 March. Hotel was clean and tidy. Not in the city centre, but only 10 minute walk from Metro and then a 10 minute metro journey. Bus stop just a few minutes away. Plumbing was noisy as were some of the other guests (on the Saturday night). Hotel is on a busy... more

I was thre twice. Always at winter. It has good heating. ( At Rome sometimes it's problem) The normal price is expensive, but via octopustravel, or hotelopia you can find 50-60€ nights/room price, what is friendly. more

I would love to say that everything had been perfect because it very nearly was, we had four separate beds in our room, the bar man was exraordinarily helpful and did his utmost to provide food for my picky eaters on the Sunday evening of our stay... the room was clean and comfortable although basic ... the 10 min bus... more
