Hotel Sonya was chosen from Rick Steve's 'Italy 2009'. We stayed here upon return to Rome for 1 night before departing Italy. The hotel was everything and more than Rick Steves described. First, the location was within comfortable walking distance from the train station. Second, the hotel staff were friendly and accomodating upon arrival. Third, the rooms were spacious and... more

Stayed for 4 nights from June 8 - 12; got 2 rooms for my family with 3 teenagers. We arrived via an overnight train from Paris and just walked from Termini Station to the Hotel for 15 minutes; so we saved on taxis...we checked in around 1130AM and although it was not yet check in time, we were immediately given... more

Hotel was not too grand in appearance. But there were very accommodating!! I got there 10am and check in wasn't until 1pm..They get me a room within a hour which I was very thankful for due to having a long flight. It's close to the train station and sight seeing tours. The rooms and elevator is small, but very nice... more

Booked two rooms here for myself, mum ,sister and neice for 4 nights . Very close to Termini and shuttle bus from airport. Well looked after at breakfast by lovely staff. Lots of fresh cakes and croissants every day. Quirky old fashioned lift. Room small but adequate on 5th floor. A visit to remember. Will return with my husband more

We had a very nice stay, but we had contacted them prior to trip to make sure they had hair dryers. The hair dryer was one that you had to hold down the button the whole time you dried your hair. I t was to save money. Also, it would be good if they had a few places that thy... more

We were fortunate to have stayed at Hotel Sonya 2 weeks ago. The hotel was beautiful- the staff was pleasant and informative- everything was kept so clean. The breakfast was very nice as well. The location was close to the train station as well as many attractions. The only problem we encountered was when we arrived late at night by... more

I booked this hotel based on the great reviews. Hotel seems clean (although there is a very faint smell of sewerage in the room which would bely the fact - not sure if this is from the street or the room) and rooms have been recently refurbished. For Rome this is a quiet location and it's walking distance to transport... more

Really friendly hotel with a fabulous breakfast. Could recommend this hotel to families with children and to anyone who wish to stay close to major sights in Rome. Clean and spacious rooms. I loved every minute of my hotel stay and liked the surrounding areas, very quite and lovely. I would defenitely stay here next time I go to Rome! more

Went to Rome in the end of February, 2009 (5 nights), for the first time having organised all trip independently. Weather was good, but little bit cool. In the afternoon the temperature of air from 7 to 15 degrees, in the first days fell to-1 so it was necessary to put on a beret and gloves in the evening. The... more
