stayed for one night in April 2009 ,the staff was helpful, however the rooms (even given the age of the hotel) need upgrading . breakfast was good ,overall does not deserve a 4 star rating more

Excellent hotel with nice atmosphere. They seem to do renovations and it created a funny effect: in our room (5th floor) the bathroom was new and excellent, which made the room look a bit shabby (it was nice and clean but not new). Otherwise good - the staff was friendly and nice. more

We called an afternoon of the week before our arrival to this charming hotel in order to ask some info. From this point on the staff were very helpful with directions, and also by arranging the pick up at the airport, setting up travel arrangements for two tours, and booking a table at a nearby restaurant which was excellent (in... more

My general comments about this hotel are that it is an old hotel that needs to be refurbished urgently. The bathrooms are moldy and the carpets look disgusting. They also need to do something about their housekeeping. Our experience of the Viminale consisted of the following: We arrived late in the afternoon from Florence, and after some time waiting, during... more

We originally booked to stay at the Hotel Edera but when we arrived at 9.30pm they told us they had double booked and moved us to the Viminale. It turned out the Viminale was actually in a better location (more restaurants etc nearby). It was about 10 mins to Termini and the Colosseum. The room was a good size as... more

The viminale was recommend to me by girlfriend and she was right. Within walking distance of the Colosseum, Termini and metro the hotel is as well inexpensivce as something special. The staff are very kind and helpful: I forgot my bathing suit there and they sent it to Germany! Our triple bedroom was nice and clean and the bathroom recently... more

If you don't mind querky and a bit outdated, this hotel is fab. It's inexpensive and within walking distance of the Colosseum. The staff are absolutely fantasic and were so kind to us. Yes the rooms are interesting and indeed of updating but they are clean. The roof terrace doesn't have much interest in terms of a bar but there... more

Brilliant location about 5 mins from the Termini Station and literally on the doorstep of St Marie Maggiore. and the colleseum. We were in Rome for four days and nights and everything was within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself was pretty basic and needed more modernisation but was clean and pleasant enough for all the time we... more

LOCATION: Good location, handy for metro. Next to Italian Interior Ministry, so felt very safe at night as lots of police patrolling. Lots of restaurants around. Be careful cashing travellers cheques - very high commission charged (up to 17%). There is an American Express office next to the Spanish Steps which will change them for no commission. ROOM: Room was... more

Why does a hotel company advertise amenities in its hotel when they don't exist. I booked this hotel particularly because it advertised a Roof Terrace + Bar to relax after days sightseeing. There is niether !!!. When i asked reception where bar was i was told rather abruptly there is NO bar + there never has been one. The terrace is... more
