We were just looking for a basic hotel close to the train station and that is what we found with the Commodore. It calls itself a 4 star, but that is a little high. No complaints, though. The rooms were fine, and the ensuite adequate. Service was very friendly. The airconditioning is in the hallways, not the rooms (not an... more

I spent 2 nights there because of a conference nearby. A very sad place. They really got their stars in the '70. Everything is old and worn out (carpet, bathroom, staircase). Perhaps it is clean but it does not look like. The location is ok, but not the best place in Rome. Service rude as usual in Rome. I would... more

Good location, close to major sights such as Colosseum, walking distance from others such as the Trevi Fountain, etc. Clean and simple accommodation, reasonable price, and the breakfasts were a bonus. more

The room was small but clean and comfortable. Good location as very close to train station(walking distance) and short walk to Coloseum and many other sights. Breakfast was included and was not five star but definitely good enough for us. No complaints about this hotel. more

I stayed in the Hotel Commodore for two nights. Having traveled to Rome at least twenty times, I am by now quite familiar with Roman hotels. For new travelers to Rome the location close to Termini (central station) and the Santa Maria Maggiore is nice, but the main attractions like the Forum, St. Peter's and the centro storico are elsewhere... more

We arrived at 1 15 am, nearly six hours late due to problems with flights from the UK, but the gentleman at reception was very helpful and we were in our room very quickly. The room was small, but the facilities were clean and comfortable. No view to speak of, only the windows of the building opposite, but we didn't... more

Never, have we been so disappointed in a hotel, and its services. The rooms smelled bad, were dirty, noisy and way too small for the price. Staff cold and unfriendly. The only good point were the breakfast and the proximity of Stazione Termini. You could do everything walking from the hotel, except Vatican City. Not recommendable for the price. more

My husband and I booked a one night stay at Hotel Commodore for December 27th. We booked through Romeby.com and I received two confirmation emails. We booked back in July! On December 21st (while in Rome at another hotel), I called Hotel Commodore directly to confirm our reservation for the night of the 27th. The man I spoke to on... more

We have recently returned from a long weekend in Rome, staying at the Hotel Commodore. I agree with most of the posts on here. It's in a great location, just a short walk from the train station, and a 10-15 min walk into the ancient part of Rome, past lots of gelato bars and restaurants! We felt very safe and... more

I just got back from a long weekend in Rome. Hotel Commodore is in a great location. Abt 5 minutes walk from Termini. In a safe location. Didn't feel unsafe walking back in the last evenings. Alot of places to eat and shop near by on Via Nationale, etc. The room we got was large, and clean. Toilet very clean.... more
