My boyfriend and I booked this hotel based on the good reviews, and we were not disappointed at all. The Amalia is a great hotel. We stayed there for four nights in hot and sunny August. It's in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk from the Underground line A, which leaves from Termini railway station (which is where... more

Stayed for 3 nights on a b & b basis. the hotel is clean, comfortable and absoultely in a fabulous location for seeing all the best attractions in Rome. On arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. We did upgrade to a room with a "view of the vatican" !. room 504 may have slightly better view.... more

I stayed a week in the Amalia early in October of 2007 with my girlfiend... the location was great. We are very pedestrian / mass transit type people, and the location could not have fit us better. We arrived in Rome from Venice by train, and easily connected from Termini to the subway system, and the hotel is just blocks... more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Amalia for about 10 days for our honeymoon and loved it!! We initially chose it due to the proximity to Vatican City/St. Peter's Basilica, and we were so pleased when we got there! Price is reasonable for the size of the room and the location of the hotel. Numerous restaurants within walking... more

We stayed at the Amalia Hotel for four nights on April 17th. Excellent staff and location. Room was very large and nice marble flooring. Bathroom was huge! We were on the 5th floor near the back so it was very nice and quiet. The staff were amazing and only a 10 minute walk to the Vatican. It was so nice... more

We went open minded after reading the mixed reviews. The hotel is in an excellant location 5 mins to Vatican and 2 mins to nearest metro. The room we had was very clean with large with ample space and wardrobes. The bathroom was also large but the shower cubicle was small but you could still shower easily. We found the... more

You cannot fault the location of the Amalia. It's just a few minutes walk to the Vatican, plenty of local shops and restaurants (as used by Italians) plus a short walk to the Metro which can then easily get you to all the other main sites including the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Colloseum, etc. The room we had was small... more

My boyfriend and i stayed at this hotel in Rome for 7 nights, we were in a standard room for the first 3 nights. While it was very clean, there was no outside view, just a view down into the laundry and the room was very small. However, it was very clean so you could live with it. On the... more

We were shocked by this hotel from the minute we arrived at the entrance. There was no signage, and there was not really a front desk - just a bare little cubby hole. The elevator was tiny and old and no one to help you. The rooms were very small, and the hotel was dark. Peeling wall paper, dirty bedspreads,... more

I stayed at the Amalia for three days in October with my sister and parents. The hotel was very well located in a real neighborhood three blocks from the St. Peter's Square and two blocks from a subway station. There were many good, reasonably priced restaurants, cafes, small shops and delis in the surrounding blocks. The hotel itself is clean... more
