I have just returned from a stay in the Gallia Hotel and I dont have a bad word to say about it. I found the staff to be helpful and very friendly, the location is perfect within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Coliseum. And if you dont fancy the walk Termini station is five minutes away... more

This hotel was $150 nightly, but any place in America it would rent for $50 nightly. Probably a nice hotel back in the twenties and thirties. Our door was broken, wouldn't lock properly, bathroom door wouldn't shut, noisy (very noisy) traffic outside, heat and aircond may have worked, but we couldn't tell really, smoking, smoking, smoking, smoking everywhere. The two... more

Before I went to Rome on a family holiday, I had looked on this site and was slightly apprehensive. It turns out that I had absolutely no need to be! The hotel was fantastic - the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times of day and night, the rooms were very large with plenty of space and nice... more

We only stayed 2 nights. The first room that we had booked, a family room, was baking hot and the aircon was exactly that, a con, totally ineffective. Sleeping was difficult enough but to wake at 3.00am with the bed crawling with bugs was totally unacceptable. The night porter managed to find us 2 alternative rooms and we had to... more

Good Points:- Room was huge - far bigger than we expected for the money. Room was clean, water was hot etc. Breakfast was fine as were the waiting staff. Nice to be near Santa Maria Maggiore and several bus stops. Some good nearby restaurants Bad Points:- Front of house staff very unfriendly. Just tried to look cool in their shades.... more

The hotel is well situated, but the front of house staff could not give a damn about their guests. The air conditioning was not turned on centrally, but it could not have been used in the room (401) anyway as the unit was too noisy. The room was dirty, with layers of dust, torn wallpaper, even a previous client's socks... more

The Gallia Hotel is in a superb location - 5 mins walk from the termini station (although I didn't realise when I arrived and got screwed by a taxi man - so be warned) 5-10 mins from pretty much everywhere else - Collosseum, Trevi Fountain etc. Hotel was very clean and very quiet. I never saw any other guests except... more
