Friendly staff, which is somewhat unusual in Italy. Excellent location in the heart of the city. Rooms were good size and the bathroom was bigger than most we experienced on this tour.. Breakfast buffet was just average.....Ask for room facing Via Cavour which is a main street, but still is quiet for sleeping at night. more

The hotel is located literally next to Termini train station, which is fabulous if arriving/departing by train. However the walk to sites around the city (Colloseum, Palatine, Roman Forum, Pantheon, various Piazzas) is pretty far... unless you catch the metro or taxi, which we didn't. Facilities in the hotel were also good - good service, nice sized room, however there... more

Excellent Hotel, Old World charm, Bedrooms somewhat small but very hign ceilings gave great sense of space. Well appointed bathroom, Tall elegant windows with olde timber shutters for extra shading as required. Very conveniently located close to main railway station, walking distance to many of Rome's historic attractions, shopping and bus tours of city. Staff helpful, excellent buffet breakfast, comfortable... more

The Massimo D'Azelgio was a good hotel & in a good location. We were on a 14 day tour so our tour group made our reservations. My husband & I were able to walk to many of Rome's attractions to include the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Colisseum - even saw some of the filming of... more

This hotel was on the "Ten Day Crown of Italy" Tour we went on with Gate 1. I travel a lot for my job in the states and stay at Hyatts, Hiltons, etc. I was pretty much pleased with this hotel. Ask for a large room when you check in and if they have one free, they'll move you (couples...book... more

We have just returned from a four nights visit in Rome. The hotel provided easy access to both metro and busses, whilst it was not lacking in the areas of cleanliness, staff service, room quality and breakfast. We would definetely recommended for couples who need a base from whch to explore the city of Rome. Of rather minor importance was the... more

This hotel has a lot of potential. Room was very small and with old furniture and bed quite tiny. No safety box in it. Bathroom also old and only with shower and the room view was to the courtyard. Breakfast was average as quality and offer and internet huge as price. more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days at the end of May after spending some time in the countryside of Italy on a driving trip. The hotel is very inconvenient to check into since it has no parking area to pull your car into. There is no bellman standing outside so you need to go in the hotel and... more

Just got back from fantastic trip to Italy organized by Gate1. Rome was our first stop and Massimo D'Azegli became our home for 3 days. Hotel has good location - train and bus stations are 5min walk. Metro stop in 2 min away. This is good for travelers who like to explore on their own. To get to Centro historico... more

Excellent hotel, clean & spacious room. Little trouble with the "Key Cards" didn't always work but staff always on hand to fix. Great location to catch buses & tour buses, just a few minutes walk from Metro & mainline station! Staff helpful and friendly. DON'T USE Terravision to & from the airport! RIP OFF, not reliable. Use a shuttle bus,... more
