At first I was hesitant because this hotel was, on the map, pretty close to the Termini and I'd heard that neighborhood wasn't great. Yes, this wasn't the Via Condotti or Via Venito BUT, as hotels in Europe are still so expensive, it really turned out to be fine. A short 4 block walk to the Termini put us right... more

My husband and I stayed at Mecenate Palace in May of this year .On our arrival, which was late evening, were welcomed by Roberto at check - in and were given an up- grade to a suite for two nights as I had a significant birthday celebration!!!!! We were then given a double superior room for the remainder of our... more

Based upon the positIve reviews on Trip Advisor, I booked two nights for my wife and I at the Mecenate Palace Hotel on Via Carlo Alberto in Rome. The room was the smallest I have ever seen. It was about the width of two double beds and in length it was one or two feet longer than a double bed.... more

I stayed there for 7 nights. Booked a single room, but they gave me a double room. The room was still so small, I couldn't believe it was for 2 people. The bathroom was nice size with a big tub. The closet was big enough for me, but probably not for 2. Ask for a free upgrade to a larger... more

Four friends stayed in this hotel in May. Staff very friendly and rooms clean. One room more spacious than the other but both with great views of the Cathedral. Towels were changed every day and lovely fluffy dressing gowns in bathroom. Free use of safe in the rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast in the roof terrace was... more

We traveled to Rome with our two children who are 5 and 3.5 years and stayed at the Mecenate Palace. I wasn't sure what to expect based on a few reviews but it really was so much better. We had stayed in very small hotels in Rome, pre-kids, with small rooms. The lobby was spacious and our room was perfect... more

very conveniently located a few minutes walk from the railway station, right by the lovely church of Santa Maria Maggiore and a leisurely stroll to the other major sites/sights, assuming you, like me, find part of the joy of a new city is in discovering it on foot. Staff were charming, the buffet breakfast was very good and the view... more

We were expecting the rooms to be a little more luxurious, but this was a very comfortable, clean hotel. The views from the rooftop were lovely. The bed linen & towels were changed daily and we were provided with lovely white, fluffy towelling bath robes!!! Breakfasts were excellent with a very good choice of rolls, pastries, ham, cheeses, conserves, fresh... more

This hotel is ideally located just a five minute walk from the termini in Rome upon arrival we were told we had been upgraded to an executive room this was larger than those in the main building spotlessly clean with a small flat screen tv king size bed and jacuzzi in a very large bathroom. Reception staff were all very... more
