This is my second visit to Rome which was a surprise trip for my partners fiftieth birthday, this being her first visit. I have used Golden Tulip hotels in other parts of europe for business purposes. They are generally of a good standard and the Ambra Palace is no different. From previous experience there is a good train service from... more

My wife and I spent 8 days here without any problem or inconvenience. Yes the hotel is 5 minutes walk away from the central (Termini) station and this is really handy because trains, metro and the main buss station are there as well. A train called "Leonardo" takes you from the airport "Fiumicino" (€ 11.00/person) in an half hour right... more

My wife and I spent six nights here and were very pleased. This was our first (and hopefully not last) visit to Rome. A ten minute walk from Termini to the hotel was very handy. We had been told we would get a room on the inner court as we had heard it can get noisy on the street. We... more

Visited this hotel at the end of March 2009 with my partner. The hotel itself is very clean, rooms spacious by European standards & staff very pleasant. The room (true to European hotels) had a double bed made of two singles and provided tea/coffee making facilities - although more than 2 sachets of UHT milk a day would've been appreciated.... more

While I will try to be brief, potential guests should know that this hotel is in a sketchy neighborhood and employees are unhelpful and rude. We booked 2 rooms through Hotwire and when we arrived, they told us that we could only have one person per room - otherwise we would need to pay an additional E100. Our hands were... more

Hotel staff obviously pads the good responses for this hotel. Busy and loud location on end of dark street. Management is uncooperative and eager to take advantage of tourists using aggressive and intimidating methods. more

If you enjoy hidden fees, a staff that makes excuses and clearly does not care then Golden Tulip Ambra Palace hotel is the right place for you and your family. First, upon arrival my family was warned not to walk around the hotel at night by our cab driver. Then, upon staying at the hotel we were provided a information... more

The hotel offers all the needs when you go for a quick visit to a new town. Very good location, close to main train station and subway stop and within walking distance to major attractions. Room was quite small but very clean and newly renovated. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was within normal standards. Hey, when you go to... more

The Hotel is strategicaly located near Rome's main train station and the subway stop, which is a great plus considering the distances. Also, it is at a walking distnace from the main attractions. Our stay was a very lovely especially that when we arrived they made us a surprise, offering us an upgrade to a Superior Room. Friendly staff, very... more

Just got back from a stay Feb 16-18th and had a wonderful experience. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, hotel was very well kept and (one standard and one "superior") rooms were immaculate. Crib was set up in large room; staff even offered to wash baby bottles for us (a huge help!). Needed toiletries were available and offered free of... more
