Emmaus is a basic hotel that has a very friendly staff and is a 5 minute walk to St. Peters. Breakfast was very basic but free. The hotel stands out because of the caring staff. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. The TV does not have cable or any english language stations. I paid a very reasonable price... more

I have stayed at Hotel Emmaus a half a dozen times from 2000 until this year. It is a wonderful place to stay in Rome as it is right off St. Peter's Square. I have brought sisters, students, friends and family here with great success. It is truly an Italian hotel. It is not a Marriott, if you are looking... more

I booked this hotel to be walking distance from Vatican for the Xmas midnight mass. Could not have chosen any closer. Can see Vatican from front door of hotel - just a 5 minute walk. Good tourist class hotel, rooms were clean. Our room at the rear meant it was peacefully quiet - hard to believe you were in Rome... more

We chose this hotel for location and it was a nice stay. We enjoyed the proximity to the Vatican. The cleanliness and breakfast was average on the scale. The location and hospitality were well above average. Our party stayed in two rooms. The room on the interior was rather triangle shaped but adequate, the exterior room was on a busy... more

Location of this hotel is great. Just a few steps to St. Peter's Square. Parking is a challenge but we finally found a parking garage. As for our room, we were dumped out the back door. We then had to walk past the laundry room and up a very narrow steep flight of stairs to where there was a single... more

My wife and I have just got back from our trip to Europe. We stayed in Rome for 4 nights at this hotel. Unless you are on a tight budget, we would not recommend it. Our room was small and very dated. This property has not been updated in many, many years. The photos on the hotels website are a... more

The location is the best thing about this hotel, 5 min. to St. Peters Sq. I had a single, the walls are paper thin, I gave the newlyweds down the hall an 9.5 for the entertaining noise. the breakfast was adequate, the desk people were ok, If your on a budget and want to spend the money on Rome and... more

We stayed here for one night on our way back from a wedding. We had booked it because of its close proximity to St. Peters. I was expecting at the time and didn't want to have ong walks in the heat. This place needs a complete overhall. It reminded me of a convent......it was extremely shabby and dark, the bathroom... more

The hotel is in a super location if you want to be near the Vatican. You can see the dome of St Peter's from the top floors windows. It is too far to walk in the evening to the centre but the 64 bus runs regularly from outside the hotel. There are not many places to eat near the hotel,... more

within 5 minutes walk of vatican. directly on central bus line; about 10-15 min walk to Metro (underground). at least 3 cafe/restaurants within 3 minutes of hotel. safe, clean, excellent choice for anyone visiting Roma. We stayed for 4 nights, and saw all of the city with this hotel as our base. we purchased a 3 day ticket good for... more
