I booked into this hotel as I was visiting my sister who lives a 2 minute walk away from the hotel and I wish I hadn't! From the moment I arrived at the front desk I should have taken the lack of a welcome greeting, the sloppy manner in which we were dealt with, the lack of being offered help... more

I was in Italy for a leisure/business trip inspecting hotels and securing partnerships for my luxury wine and culinary travel company (CORK & FORK). As such, I stayed in several five-star hotels (others to the North) and inspected a number of others including some of the grande dames in Rome such as the Hassler, the Splendide (sister property to this... more

Okay... I am writing this review a couple of years after staying here but from what I have read of the recent reviews, I think it's safe to say that this is still relevant. My wife (at that time, my fiance) and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in November of 2006 on the way back to Sicily... more

This grand dame has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. Pros: - Beautiful hotel, opulent bedroom (heavy curtains, nice paintings, warm towel rack) - Very knowledgeable staff, spoke many languages, knew the area. - Balcony had table, chairs, and beautiful view of Villa Borhese. - Wifi in room (but 27 Euros / day) - Good closet space... more

The hotel itself is nice and the bathroom was much larger than typical European hotels (which is why I rated it three stars). The location is east of the Villa Borghese (one of Rome's nicest outdoor parklands). It's a solid 10-15 minute walk to reach the old city walls (and another 10 minutes walk to the Spanish Steps). Probably the... more

We stayed for one day following our Med. cruise this September. The hotel is impressive and so was the service. Rooms were well equipt, large, clean, and there was even a small balcony. We received great service from the concierge, bell staff. They took great care of our considerable amount of luggage. We enjoyed the gratis breakfast buffet, and our... more

We arrived at 10.30 p.m. after long journey. We unloaded luggage from taxi without help and we were given directions to room but no offer of help with baggage. Every time we left or returned to hotel there was no greeting or acknowledgement. Hot breakfast buffet items were cold all 4 mornings we were there. Good pool and attendant but... more

When in Rome stay at the Grand Hotel Parco Dei Principi. Service was flawless and the staff went out of their way to be informative, friendly and to make you feel at home. Everyone was great. The hotel is close enough to all of Rome, but it is located in a upscale beautiful area. This hotel has a wonderful outdoor... more

Let's face it what is there about Rome you couldn't like. A wonderful historic city with so many wonderful landmarks to see. Fail to go to the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel at your peril (we took the tour with a guide - well worth the additional expense as you cut out lots of the queues) then of course there... more

This was our first visit to this hotel and Rome - 5 days in the first week of August. Previous reviews on the hotel are both fair and accurate. The mundane exterior of the hotel hides inner opulence in the public areas and to some extent in the bedrooms. We found the conceige service slightly indifferent with no-one really willing... more
