The cleanliness and comfort of the Villafranca were wonderful to come back to after busy and often exhausting days of sightseeing in Rome. The rooms are certainly "European" (re: small), yet very clean (cleaned each day of our stay and equipped w/bath and spa toiletries) and quiet. The location of the hotel, however, was a blessing and a curse--It is not centrally... more

Just returned from 3 nights at this hotel. Whilst it's location is good (just 5 mins walk from Metro), my bf and I were less than impressed with everything else. Shower was unpredictable - sometimes lukewarm, sometimes freezing, but never hot; beds are hard making it uncomfortable to sleep; elevator is extremely tiny and slow; and the breakfast was poor... more

I stayed at the Villafranca for a week in February. I normally stay in the historic center, but I chose the Villafranca this time in order to save money and also it wasn't really a sightseeing trip for me. It was an excellent choice. The hotel was just fine. I had a single room with a window out back. The... more

The hotel is quite nice but very small in all aspects. Its located fairly close to the central train station in Rome and easy to get to all major city attractions. We stayed there for a long weekend and found it quite pleasant. Checking in/out takes a long time as they only have one receptionist. The rooms are clean but... more

Hotel is not centrally located. It is quiet and on small side street. Room was small. Breakfast was very good. Luggage that was stored due to early arrival was not brough up by staff and had to be retrieved from locked room outside of hotel by traveler. more

We found the Villafranca Hotel to be excellent value. It was clean, nice adequate size rooms and the reception staff more than helpful. The self-service buffet breakfast was very good with a good choice of food to choose from. The hotel is located about 5 minutes from Station Termini, which we used frequently, with the Underground Metro station also inside.... more

We spent 9 nights at this little gem and was an absolute bargin. We figured booking a motel in Rome over christmas would be difficult and pricey but when we found this place for only ~650 euros for 9 nights we were wrapt. It is a typical Best Western 3star motel, with nice clean, simple rooms, ours of reasonable size... more

Having read some of the rather damning reviews about this hotel i went with an open mind, after all not everyone who stays somewhere and has a good time bothers to write a review of a place (me included). I booked a double upgraded room b&b for myself and my mum (we got twin beds which was a relief!) for... more

Nice hotel, close to some of the main attractions of Rome also close to two supermarkets. The rooms had a nice decor and the ensuite was clean. You could get internet on your tv at a minimal cost which was great. Breakfast was included and had quite a selection. A good hotel. more

We came down from Milan to visit some friends who live in Rome. We just needed a nice clean place to stay that was near Termini (the main train station) so we could get around the city easily. We also met up with some other friends here, so they stayed here too. Reception booked us in quickly and easily. They... more
