It was our first visit to Rome. We had no idea which hotel to choose as there is no Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental which is usually our hotel choice when we travel. We decided to book our stay with the St. Regis Grand Hotel because we were attracted by the beautiful photos they put in their website. The place... more

we stayed in a deluxe room on the hotel's 20% discount offer. Fully refurbished hotel decor in the traditional style. Very good quality, comfortable room, reasonable size, excellent bathroom, excellent housekeeping. And I asked for a quiet location and actually got one, so top marks for that. Problems? The foyer is grand to the point of cavernous - a bit... more

The St. Regis is a beautiful, upscale hotel and, with that, the staff was polite but stiff, as were the travelers. We stayed at the hotel with 'free points' and for the money we would have been charged we would never have stayed in it otherwise. The room was relatively small, probably average for Rome, but would have cost about... more

Overall I was very impressed by the level of service and the friendliness of the staff - there was none of the attitude one can encounter in Italy. Check-in was extremely courteous and helpful. I had booked a standard room and forgot to specify twin beds, but the staff member immediately offered to switch us to a twin-bedded room and... more

This hotel is a short walk from the train station, very close to Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri. Had I put more time into planning, I would have probably chosen another area (closer to the Spanish steps etc)- although being nearby the train station you have the advantage of being close to the source of many hop on/off... more

Unlike our experience in Venice..This hotel is truly a gem. Upscale in every way. The staff is both knowlegible and helpful. We had a beautiful room over looking the fountain. The hotel is elegant yet reserved. The entire staff mae us feel welcomed and gla we were there. The live piano player in the grand lobby was a wondwrful way... more

Just stayed 5 nights at this Grand hotel and we absolutely loved it. When we first arrived, they upgraded us to a deluxe room, gave us complimentary breakfast and snacks at their bar and had the room ready for us in a jiffy (we came in at 10am). Location - its not smack in the middle of the tourist attractions... more

When I booked this hotel, I didn't realize that this is the old Grand Hotel of Rome. The Grand Hotel was a stuffy, unfriendly, tired hotel. The St. Regis was incredibly friendly, elegant, fun and worth the money. As we entered the hotel we were taken good care of. Check in was short and friendly. As we were taken to... more

The hotel was generally very good, as usual the brochure pictures show the best rooms and views and the reality was slightly disappointing. However the staff were excellent and the general ambiance was good. As it was our anniversary we were pleased to find a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us when we went to the room. As you would... more
