I was seriously worried when I looked up reviews after having booked this hotel but luckily my boyfriend and I were very pleasantly suprised. While it may not be up to 4 star standard as some of the other reviews have stated - our room was spacious, clean and aside from lepoard print head-board the decor was very tasteful. The... more

I have visited Rome many times, and normally stay at 4 star hotels in the center of Rome. After reading reviews about this property, decided to try a 3-star. This hotel alleviated all of my fears. The hotel is located in a great neighborhood (Prati), and while only a few blocks to the Vatican, it's much less 'toursity' than the... more

We were booked at his hotel for the beginning of a tour but on the second day I blew a disc in my back and stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks to recover from surgery. I have never experienced a more caring staff. The front desk clerk brought a wheel chair from home to help me get around and... more

We had a good deal with this hotel by booking direct in advance on their website otherwise we would have been sorely disappointed. On the plus side the hotel is wonderfully placed for the Vatican and Piazza Risorgemento for easy access to Metro, Trams and buses. Also good area for eating. The hotel is clean although I have to say... more

Plus points: 5 minutes from the Vatican; excellent shopping on doorstep; easy to walk to main attractions; VERY clean rooms, especially bed linen and towels; good breakfast choice (coffee/tea, fruit juices, croissants, rolls, cereal, cheese, meats, tinned fruit, yoghurt, cakes); friendly staff. Negative points: Looks a bit tatty - the hotel could do with some love and attention! The reception... more

The Olympic is just 5 mins walk from the Vatican so great to get to the Basilica for first thing in the morning (the view from the dome is amazing). It's also a five minute walk to the nearest metro (Ottaviano). For all the other sites, it is better to stay more centrally, near the Trevi Fountain. The hotel isn't... more

The wife and I stayed at the Grand Olympic for 2 nights in Sept. of 2007. The location was good but after a couple of days we were ready to leave. Bottom line: Close to Vatican and metro. Room was fairly spacious. Safe in room. Poor shower. Mold in room and bathroom. Very small TV (not like it matters while... more

After reading the reviews, we were very apprehensive about staying at this hotel! However we were quite pleasantly surprised. Our room was quite spacious and clean. When we used the shower the tray filled up in minutes so we had to wash extremely quickly to avoid overflowing. The problem was dealt with almost immediately but then there was the most... more

Would not recommend at all. Massively overpriced for what it is - 2/3 star at best. Dingy - certainly not four star. We were not informed of work going on during our stay. Workers started hammering at 8.00 a.m. Asked at reception for a bulb in the bathroom to be replaced. Wrote it down (or did they?) but it never... more

Myself and my partner had a weeks stay in Rome at this hotel. We were a little aprehensive due to the mixed reviews but were pleasantly surprised at how pleasant our stay was. The rooms are of a good size, bathrooms large and spacious, air-con worked perfectly well - small tip ensure bathroom door is closed if you want full... more
