Near the backside of the Forum inside part of a Church is the location of this site. When you arrive there is a person to collect a charitable donation to the church which goes to various causes/groups. You choose how much you would like to donate. You then go down the stairs and then there is a pay phone machine... more

This is a very ancient Roman prison and according to Christian tradition it was the prison of Saints Peter and Paul. It was also visited by Saint Philip, Saint Ignatius, Saint Theresa of Liseux, and Saint Benedict. When I visited the prison I was lucky because it was empty of tourists.
