This excellent site is both a pictureque excavation of four Republican temples, and also a sanctuary for the homeless cats of Rome. They are safe here, get food and medical care, and are prevented from reproducing. There is a headquarters where those who need special care can receive it. We ended up at this hotel completely by accident after our booking at another hotel was mistakenly cancelled. The facade and the lobby are very average. However, the staff was professional and very accomidating, especially considering we showed up with about 30 minutes notice. The rooms are fairly typical size for a remodeled palazzo = small.
